I just have to say that this is a great way to end a stressful week of strips. Way to go Paul.

The key point is how did they know exactly who they were coming to help? This suggests that the girls been watched closely for awhile. In that the helicopter took time to deploy. Lily took time to get to the chopper. The MIB had to become aware of the situation and react to it. So at what point of the story do you think MIB twigged to their presence and reacted? In the tunnel? In the library? Or when they crashed the ruins?

The apache was obviously flying cover for the blackhawk with the rest of the team (You didn't think they could have a rescue team packed into that apache did you?)... I expected Brandi... so Lily is a pleasant surprise! I imagine Suze is coming down the other rope! Rapelling out of a blackhawk into a crater the size of New Jersey *wonders where the rest of the M.I.B.'s iz at*

While this is actually pretty good for Kath... I can imagine Atsali is secretly saying her oh noes over and over under her breath. Phix is not going to be amused.

Heh. i was right. I didn't post today too busy at work.

And I just has a scary thought. Brandy planned for all of this to happen. Everything from the decision to search for the dolls, to the explosives in the mine, the conveniently place mine car, the Wiley E Coyote geometry of the ground, the collapsing underground city, to having the new MIB recruits on hand to help out afterwards.

I doubt Phix will 'do' anything to Atsali. Like any good librarian she has contacted Atsali’s mother.

Aww, heck. The adventure with just the two of them is over. Kinda sad to see that.

Seems to me the best thing to do in an operation like this is send a poiter in on the chopper first. That way she could poit back to base (possibly with Kath & Atsali) and poit whatever people and supplies needed back to the drop zone for further investigation. Simple and quick. No need to send more machines into the area possibly attracting unwanted attention. Still don't know why it had to be a vampire for this mission in the first place. Maybe there is Vimana cell type radiation involved and a member of the undead would not be affected. Who knows.

I think the coincidence isn't.
Brandi may have, in an earlier life, discovered Kathrine's affinity for this place and knew she would wind up somewhere around here when she disappeared from the library.
Even the wild coincidences of the mine/cannon and the utter collapse of the underground complex may have been played through many times.
Maybe Kat's supernatural talent is for catastrophic archeology rather than turning into a spider or something.

I thought that the Vampire Girls were going to the Mapimi Silent Zone, but we never actually saw them get orders or go.
I thought the adventurers were going to Mesa Verde (or close by) but I don't remember any definite signs that they actually went there.

My head hurts.

I don't think so. We are well past the point of reset, so all this is happening for the first time ever. Then there is the fact Brandi reset each time the calendar machine reset the galaxy so she had to start fresh every time. She didn't remember anything from one cycle to the next.
