Did scientists just find the fabled Viking sunstone?

This isn't quite the same; it apparently was a crystal that allowed Viking seafarers to navigate when there wasn't much sunlight (which was pretty common where they were coming from and going to).

And there I always thought sunstone was a safeword (yeah, that link is probably NSFW and needs a DeviantArt account)...
