That's how i describe them.
In fact, if i ever did anything like that and posted it, i'd say something like "...further evidence that i've got too much spare time..." or words to that effect.
That's what a hobby is - a way to deal with the situation.
And "too much time on his hands" is an old tongue-in-cheek mantra.
