I also found a first-person story of a girl with a centaur (shapeshifter) boyfriend, but I'm afraid that the first chapter is written the way some teenage girls talk. Apparently the main character had not yet discovered capital letters, the concept of ending a sentence, or the necessity of occasionally inhaling... Makes it very hard to read.
