These Wapsiverse teenage romances are strange to me. My teenage romances had a lot less sweetness and adorability and a lot more clumsy furtive groping.

Dont forget to breath young Pickle. Wait a second, that gives me a totally off the topic thought. Plants take in carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. Animals do the reverse. Wonder if Pickle has a possible self contained breathing system that would allow for near unlimited diving or exploration in space?

And Shawna breaks Cass, again. She is going to void the warranty, if she keeps doing that.

Remember that plants breath out an O₂ surplus, only when they are actively photosynthesizing in the presence of bright-enough light. At night, they must respire and release CO₂ just as mammals do.

So, if Castela and Shawna want to share an almost-never-ending kiss, they must do so in a brightly illuminated room, and not in the dark.

I know that this will be a serious disappointment for many of you. (>cough<TheCollector>cough<)

Is she going to explode? I hope not, because it'd ruin that nice leather couch...

Ah, but the level of CO₂ release significantly drops when in a high-CO₂ environment. Plus, while CO₂ release does increase for a bit as temperature increases, if the temperature gets high enough then CO₂ release peaks and then plummets. So the longer Shawna can kiss Castela, and the warmer she can keep her, the less CO₂ Castela will release while in the dark.

Meanwhile, in the light Castela will not only be releasing oxygen, but will also be producing sugar. I believe that blackthorns grow best in sunny situations, suggesting that they primarily use chlorophyll-a in photosynthesis. The highest level of light absorbance for chlorophyll-a is in the reddish-orange range of visible light.

So perhaps the optimal kissing environment for the two gals would be in a room with a nice romantic orangey-red fire in the fireplace. That way Castela could be extra-sweet, and also her release of oxygen could help enable prolonged kissing. The prolonged kissing and cuddling would help reduce any CO₂ release if the lights should happen to go off for any reason.
