Moment of Silence
I am sorry to report that AmriloJim passed away February 1st, 2018. I don’t know if anyone here knew about it already, but I just found out on FB when Paul tried to wish him happy birthday.

He's mister GlytchMeister, he's mister code
He's mister exploiter, he's mister ones and zeros
They call me GlytchMeister, whatever I touch
Starts to glitch in my clutch!
I'm too much!

Re: Moment of Silence
Aw, MAN. The one guy who I actually got the chance to (nearly) meet, and he's gone.

Oh, bugger. Been hearing this and near-misses too often of late.

Damn. He was younger than some of us kids, too.

Blast and damn.
He was older than I, but only just barely (five weeks).

Re: Moment of Silence
I'd called and talked to him in mid-December, right before the wife and I drove out to AZ the first time after I retired.
Hoped to get a chance to see him, maybe on the second run through the town, but didn't stop in A-rillo that time.
Damn damn damn.

I'll echo that thought, I always figured the next time I drove out to Colorado I'd hit Amarillo going or returning and catch him to say "Hi".jwhouk wrote:I'd called and talked to him in mid-December, right before the wife and I drove out to AZ the first time after I retired.

And if you have friends that you always think about but never take time to check up on, do it. I have a friend that was a teacher, retired a few years back, he and his wife spent time pulling a travel trailer around while deciding where to build a place to stay. They wound up in the Texas hill country, bought ten acres, had the shell of a house built, and then started working on the interior themselves. He wasn't one to keep in touch much, posted rarely on Facebook. But we were still buddies.
So I decide to check his page last month, see what's up. There's a picture of he and his wife, caption says "At MD Anderson in Houston. We're heading home, nothing more to be done here." He had been diagnosed with a brain cancer, radiation and chemo weren't working. Got hold of his wife over messenger, she tells me he's in hospice care now. I got over his way earlier this month, spent a few hours at his place, got to talk with him but it just wasn't quality visiting. Dammit.
