So Doubt is sort of a mentor to uncertain paras and/or their associates now?

Castela is in a lot more trouble here than Atsali was - she sees it all too clearly.

She just can't figure out what to do about it.

Like most people (particularly at that age, but also most people much older), when it comes to romance she can't see stuff that's too close to her.

I think Doubt and Pickle just have a good relationship.
I'll admit, I'm curious to get some backstory on how/when they started interacting.

Also, I've been trying to figure out when Doubt returned, her last tagged appearance before this era was when Jin sent her away. Has she just been in the demon group shots un-tagged since then, or was something more afoot? Everytime I dive into the archives looking for other sightings, I lose an hour rereading random chunks of strips.

Right. By "this era" I had meant before the time skip. We've got a couple instances of these two being buddies, I just wish I knew more of what happened in between.

Monica's Doubt has been around much more recently than that! She played a big role in the Calendar Machine smackdown... she showed up at the crisis (just after Monica was headstabbed with the Phoenix blade) and helped Monica and Shelly keep the doorway open to banish the Demon Queen back into the Demon dimension (and if I recall correctly, the Queen had been Jin's Doubt).

Monica's Doubt returned some time later to report that the Queen and other ruke-breaking demons had been properly disciplined.

And, even more recently, Doubt showed up when Monica was giving Cricket a Jaguar-Girl-style introduction to Cricket's own demons.

Well Luci was brought in after the time skip to counsel Castel after the "blow up rocks in Canyon" bit because Atsali was leaving after graduation.

Whoa, where did he come from?

I assume this IS Timmy, missing homeroom to be with Castela, and not the ghost that seems to like to mimic him. Either way, interesting that he apparently can't see Doubt. Also, I wonder what role he's going to play here. So far all of Castela's friends have either been part of the problem or trying to get her to see a solution. I can't see Timmy being the former, so maybe he's going to be the one to actually help her figure out what to do.

Its been shown that people cant see Doubt and her sisters unless they wish them to.
