Bio note: Daylla and mom are made of living metal.
EDIT: Paul says she's non-ferrous.

date in subject line: 2017-19-92? The 92nd day of the 19th month?
(Let's see... wow, that turns out to be two days short of a year off. Sept 30 2018.)

I read a short story, recently, that had a country declare that in order to save on resources, people would be "allowed" so many days per month to live, depending on your job/status. Writers were only allowed to live 15 days or so per month. To make the system work, people were given day tickets, and when their tickets ran out, they vanished, until the first of the next month.
Naturally, there rose a day ticket black market, so that the protagonist ended up living 10 or 12 extra days in a particular month...
The program was soon canned, because it did not manage to save on resources...

Now hang on: how many days are you assuming per month, in your calculations?

Are they still plantiform, or is that no longer canon?

The canon has been blown away, it seems...

Was that ever canon from Paul? I know some people have said that Daylla is another plant-form of some sort but I cannot recall a statement by Paul to that effect... but I don't follow his Facebook page and so may have missed it.
Even if so... if metal can be alive, why can't it take a plant form by preference? There are plenty of figurative references of that sort (silver vine and the like) and quite a few plants concentrate various metals in their tissues.
The real question is: if Daylla is non-ferrous, can she still be a Metallica fan?

Just FYI, calcium is a metal according to the periodic table. And it's para-magnetic.

I hope Daylla isn't made of metallic calcium. She's be less tolerant of water than the Wicked Witch of the West... let's just say it would leave her with an explosive temper.
Could do Springsteen well, though.

Personally, I thought
this page was a pretty strong hint, anyway... We know that Castela wasn't using it metaphorically, so I guess we just assumed that neither did Dayla...

My guess is Jul 1 2018 would be 2017-19-01, Aug 1 = 19-32, Sep 1 = 18-63, therefore 19-92 would be Sep 29.

So... tin? Copper? Lead? Good Lord, she'd weigh a ton!
Silver? GOLD???
And how do you get living metal creatures, anyway?

You fight a forest fire and the metal on the cap of your staff fuses with your hand...
{See "Living Metal" under "Skills and Abilities",
here, for a brief and probably confusing explanation.}

Could be she's not composed a single type of metal. She could have calcium bones, mercury blood, aluminum skin...
A brain composed of interlaced platinum, silver and copper, forming a matrix inside her head that rivals most supercomputers?
And that's not even getting into the possibilities of alloys.

Asimov's "positronic brain" - a "platinum and iridium sponge", if i recall correctly.

I was thinking something along more traditional lines.

Considering the Wapsi Square context it makes the most sense.

Ah. So you're assuming that all the months have remained the same. I posit that if a year can end up with 19 (or more) months, and that this 19th month can have 92 days (or more), who's to say how many days are in the other months, in that particular universe? We are lacking sufficient information to make any kind of educated guess as to the proper conversion matrix...
