Yes Castela- you were Atsali's security binkie, her playmate and her sister before you were articulate. Neither she nor you have any memory where the other wasn't there. Different species- one family.

Still hung up that age wise those two are nearly the same.

Organically, yes. Developmentally, not so much. At this stage, Castela is still not quite sentient, I think... There have been many, many hints that she is developing at a different rate than the human baseline - for example, her "wise beyond her years" moments, of which there are several... And then that wacky growth spurt... Which, granted, may just be a result of the comic format and time skips, but still.oldmanmickey wrote:Still hung up that age wise those two are nearly the same.

Probably when she hears - and it registers - Mama refer to the plant as Castela.Opus the Poet wrote:I wonder if the coin is going to drop for Castel about the "widd'w pwant"?

That IS sweet.
You wonder how the MiB handled it when they got there. You also wonder where they are, and why the attackers have apparently given up. In one hour they could have - SHOULD have - gotten in...

It strikes me that this is one of those strips that you don't tell your friends to start with when diving into Wapsi Square for the first time...

Re: Protected 2016-11-10
I have a suspicion that they have been in a running battle with the MiBies. Yes, any defences can be broken down over time. But, if they don't have the time, then those defences are effectively impenetrable. These stuck me as mercenaries, not fanatics, so they are less likely to be willing to die for the cause.eee wrote:That IS sweet.

Yeah. Trying to pass it off as a remake of "The Thorn Birds" probably wouldn't help.FreeFlier wrote:It would require a lot of explanation . . .jwhouk wrote:It strikes me that this is one of those strips that you don't tell your friends to start with when diving into Wapsi Square for the first time...

Does Protector-Castela sense I'm-Not-Really-Here Castela? The way those two nasty thorns are pointing suggests she does.
===============
Was Castela in the Orphanage (unbeknown to Atsali OR herself) as a bodyguard for Atsali?

I think the thorns are just pointed protectively outward at anything and everything right now.

Also may be at some point deep down she remembers this or at lest has vague memories.

Like the Myster said, but I do also- "not Really".
In some ways Castela is a lot older than even Katherine...
