...and in other news- Paul Taylor has received a lifetime supply of SNICKERS candy bars for no discernable reason...

This is actually the Monday comic; date should be "2016-06-27"

Aaah, the joys of theobromine: the alkaloid food of the gods. Even a grumpy Castela is not beyond its power!

(I don't know about the ethics of Atsali becoming a drug petaler, though)

Says the man whose post says -26 :P

Sad thing is, I checked the taskbar for the date specifically to use the correct date, then forgot to add one.
As you grow older, there are three things that suffer: first, the memory... and damned if I can remember the other two!

Getting old stinks . . . but not as bad as the alternative.

...not much of an alternative if it's mandatory.

[Wash]That part'll happen pretty definitely.[/Wash]

I'm so relieved that she didn't turn into Joe Pesci. I would have screamed like a six year old girl, pissed my pants and run for a flamethrower. Not necessarily in that order.

Being dead is boring. Imagine you have never seen a tablet computer, and someone hands you one open to Google Earth zoomed out as far as it will go. They ask you to show them your house but don't explain how to zoom in with a tablet computer or how to move the point of view. That's what being dead is like, except that at max zoom the local galactic cluster is a few dots that can't be differentiated from any of the other dots.

On the Snickers ad, various versions of that one have been floating around for most of a decade, it is on the verge of becoming a meme.

Snickers used to be called Marathon in the UK. And I prefer this ad:

Snickers will cure most anything in the short turn. If shes this touchy now though i shudder to think what she will be like as a teenager. It could get down right deadly once a month at that house. Might even be worse than a female werewolf.

At least Castela shows clear warning signs of a bad mood.

Ah. the power of advertising!!!

Yes, I did wonder back then on holidays that they had a 'different' marathon bar... :D then came the ads with a 'strine' thinking they were talkin about his 'sneekers' :D :D

Theobromine? well that only makes up a small part of the covering of a snickers bar... and of course many dont like the 'mostly pure'form...

the main 'plus' of snickers actually comes from the peanuts and sugar content... :)

Yeah, I don't care for Snickers too much myself, as they have too much caramel for my tastes. It's the only part of the bar I don't like. Reeses otoh, and Planter's made some peanut butter cups I got ahold of one time- fabulous!

Slightly Scorched (reroasting the peanuts in a ) Reeses makes them even more yummy, but it''s an art form...

I prefer the version that doesn't have peanuts, and is coated in dark chocolate with vanilla nougat.

Bonus points to anyone who knows what it's called (and what it was originally called).

Sounds like a Milky Way Dark . . . or are they calling it Milky Way Midnight now?

Milky Way Midnight Dark.

Ah, but what was it known as before they slopped the Milky Way brand name on it?
