I think someone has been slipping her some Miracle-Gro.

Castela's even talking more grown up. Certainly doesn't sound like a kid anymore anyway.

So what exactly, do Paranormal children like stay the same age like for several years or something and then just spurt up one day? Cause that would make how different Atsali looks now compared to when she first appeared make a lot more sense, and I don't just mean the chest.

I'm assuming the bear cub is a male relative of Berdine and Nadette? :geek:

She's blossoming! Next comes the visit from the Boob Fairy.

Then --- pollen?

Indeed, that would be unfortunate. She's still quite young (blackthorn wisdom not withstanding) and somehow I doubt she has the stamena for such an ordeal yet.

Wait, wait, wait.

Let's assume for a second that she is growing larger, like almost every organism does. That's all well and good. But her human form is just a weave of vines and branches. Exactly why would the addition of biomass necessarily manifest as height? Why not girth? Why not just a denser weave so that she can increase her height more gradually and less awkwardly? Her outer appearance is basically arbitrary, isn't it?

Perhaps the hybridization process made it so she is genetically predisposed to follow human growth patterns, regardless of whatever else she can do with the unwound vines that compose her body.

Kind of doubtful, but it can't be ruled out. Although he may be a lion cub...

This is the kid from Castela and Daylla's class who tried to take the toy they weren't used, and got MAJOR INTIMIDATION from Pickle. To judge from the flush on his cheeks, it's not a growth spurt, but the beginning of hormonal overdrive, that's happening with him.

We've been shown that she doesn't grow up to be a barrel cactus, but that might be one of her many forms! Kingdom Plantae Polymorph perhaps?

That would work up to a point... but once her weave reached a certain density she might find it uncomfortable to weave it even tighter, and she wouldn't be able to weave areas to greater than 100% density anyhow. Staying "tightly woven" might, for her, feel a bit like Atsali binding her breasts... uncomfortable, and subject to sudden failure and consequences under stress.

Kudzu, bamboo, knotweed... a lot of plants quite naturally go through "growth spurts" that make those of human teen-agers look stationary. Plants are fundamentally carbohydrate-based... they don't have to lay down stony skeletons the way we do... and given sufficient energy and raw materials they can grow quite amazingly fast.

Case in point, on a good growth day (otherwise known as a bad day) for kudzu, you can watch it grow.

It's Alabama and Arkansas that are having the most trouble with kudzu, right? Wasn't there some free-range goat/sheep solution proposed for that?

Kudzu seeds pass through goats and sheep without harm and thus are spread and fertilized
