That's either one impressively large library, or there's a whole city around it that we've yet to be introduced to. Interesting!

Actually it looks like several "worlds" that were interconnected there. I see something that looks like Olympus, Valhalla, and what looked like the BioDome (which I wasn't aware of being a supernatural realm, but this is the wapsiverse, not real life).

I assume the Library's for different realities, and/or dimensions? I have always figured that the Library worked around Brandi's deal. I've had the feeling that Phix, because of her association with the library, has a kind of 'door' magic. Nothing even hinted at in the strip, but that's how I figure she gets around.

I thinks its more the Library as seen from it's meta-space. All of it's annexes that have ever been. With a copy every book/scroll/etc ever made in history and possibly even from beyond "this" (Waspi)-Universe, the Library is bound to nearly and infinite place.

Phix's expression is priceless. She knows she got played and still saved nudge cause she is too good inside just to let nudge go SPLAAAAT. Part of nudges expression is 'IT WORKED!!!'.

Yes indeed! We knew that the Library is somehow outside of our own time and dimension... and it looks as if its whole plane of existence is not only separated from our own, but also largely separated from such mundane things as planetary bodies. This could have given Nudge a lot longer to fall before she would have hit anything solid.

This scene reminds me somewhat of some classic album cover work Roger Dean did for Yes ("Fragile" and "Close To The Edge") back in the early 1970s.

We have always assumed that Phix can POIT, but she just seems to show up. I've never noticed her making POIT sound (not that necessarily means anything), and when she moved Monica and Tina to the Library, they were just there suddenly. I think there are more methods of moving in the Wapsiverse than we know about.
Looks like the Library world has a lot of unobtainium.
Phix still looks pissed.

She looks that way because she knows that Nudge is going to give her a couple of spoonfuls of...poop...over this... :)

I'm trying to count - it looks like about 16 different "floating islands", and they're all connected. And our library exterior appears to be just to the bottom by the upper left corner of Nudge's "still falling" frame.

If this is the realm of the sphinx, it probably wouldn't be surprising that it would be land masses in the air. The only question is, where in the air is it?

Phix's expression in the last panel echos old Bugs in one of the classic cartoons: "I'll do it - but I'll probably hate myself in the morning!"

It's already morning, cause Phix is already hatin' it.....

i think that she looks more resigned than po'd. more like she did when the Library spoke up and said that they were both Head Librarians... she had that same kind of "why did it have to be ME" look

as for the different kinds of traveling, there's the "mundane" ones we know about in our real life, then there is Poiting, and apparently the cross-dimensional travel method that Shiva and Amun use (currently precluded by Brandi's magnetic shield grid with the V-Cells) then of course the method that Tsillah uses which is apparently different from the one that is blocked since she can still use her method. so yeah, I'm sure there is PLENTY more of the *different* stuff out there that we haven't seen yet... and the wait is killing me...

Then we are seeing the glories of L-Space! Only a fraction, though - no sign of the Unseen University Library building, at least from this angle. (Ook)

Looks as if it's an annex of Gunnerkrigg Court.

Ditto but Phix's face is the real gem.

It's the perfect rendition of the pained "Oh Gawd! Do I really have to put up with this?"

If ever.

But this begs the question - Just how does Nudge get into and out of the library? She can't fly and she can't poit. Using the annex's portals does not sound right.

If there are clouds and an atmosphere, it would seem the floating islands would be above a planetary body of some sort. And not all too high up either for the people to have breathable and reasonably warm air. It's not like they are on the fringes of space. Nor would the islands be in different dimensions or any such either. They are all in the same area in the same dimension, tethered together. Or maybe those are covered walkways. Maybe at one time all those chunks of land were on the surface of the planet, then broke free, lifting right out of the ground powered via a Vi-whatchamacallit cell or 3.
