As advertised, pics from the Build-a-Bear expedition, 18 January 2016 (Part One):
Maggie shows her (pre-stuffing) choice - a rainbow glitter zebra
Natalie selects a white reindeer
Selecting what personality traits your pet should have - the little red heart contains an RFID chip that gets programmed here.
Natalie steps on the pedal to blow stuffing into her reindeer
Maggie stuffs her zebra
Natalie watches the Big Drum O' Fluff tumble under colour-changing lights
Natalie shows off her reindeer (I didn't manage to get a similar shot of Maggie for some reason)
"Washing" the new pets.
Naming the critter - the heart gets programmed with the name and other information at this stage.
Natalie named her reindeer "Caramel", Maggie named her zebra "Cilie" (pronounced, she says, "Silly")
In the mall, heading home after a successful expedition
==============================
Bonus picture: Maggie blows out the candles, 13 January.

Why am I not surprised to see a bottle of hot sauce on the table where you're having birthday cake?
Looks like a fun trip.

That's a much more high-tech process than I'd anticipated.
Those young'uns are your grandkids if I remember right, yes?

Having several B-a-B already, I'm tempted to get minions...I really want Bob's teddy bear as a full size plush because it's too cute.

Jasper approves!
This bear was from a niece who is studying to teach early development. I was to take the bear to places of interest, take photos, and make entries in a journal describing what had been seen or experienced. Then send the bear on to the next person who would do the same. This was repeated several times. The intent is for her to then have a teaching tool for future classes.
In one day, I took the bear to the San Jacinto Monument, Battleship Texas, NASA, The ELISSA sailing ship in Galveston, and the Ocean Star offshore drilling rig museum. Woof.
"Happy" bear and "Gus" the ELISSA mascot at the ship's wheel...

Jasper looks incredibly unenthusiastic in that pic. I can almost hear the flat, unimpressed "Really, dude?"

Actually, her expression is a nervous dog-smile. You are correct about the enthusiasm, she was a little confused about the effort having been told she could not eat the bear and here it was right next to her within easy reach. But I wanted the shot for the bear project and so she suffered my whim.
Stuffed animal dog toys do not last long with her. She takes it gently from you when first offered, then she trots happily over to her bed and proceeds to de-fluff the unit. It is amazing how much fluff gets crammed into those things.
