My guess for how the tail works when she goes feathery is that it somewhat resembles the tails of those feathered dinosaur reconstructions. Namely those for members of Dromaeosauridae. Feathers fanning out along the sides.

OK, first in-strip confirmation: incubus (male) and succubus (female) are the same species in the Wapsiverse.

This has got to be at least as traumatic for a teen like Atsali, as a really obvious zit appearing just before the prom

in full blown adult combat mode she could look a lot like a dinosaur of the winged persuasion. on the other hand she could have two forms. one a siren angel (that voice would explain a lot of the legends about angels) the other a semi demon form with the face we saw in taking out the trash. either way i would put big money on her against anyone in her para class.

And it even has freckles!

That look is just priceless... but I'm a little confused... Atsali was freaking before Kath got into the room... In the panels where Kath appears, it doesn't look like she's reacting much at all... well, except for the annoyance at the little tumbleweed, so her statement about Kath's reaction making her freak has me a bit confused... Oh. I see what you did there Pablo. *heads over to join the crowd in confusion corner*
