Oooh! So she couldn't see Atsali's outburst coming. That has to be somewhat unsettling...to be a seer but not be able to see the stuff that matters to you.

Train kept a-rollin' all night long. She'll get what happened eventually. Then Nadette is like, "I knew what I was getting into, I can't complain."

Naivety combined with total cluelessness housed in a skull of, (as opus said) pure neutronium. Yea does anyone else see a possible danger here?

Way I view it, knowing exactly how your partner would react to any possible situation is never something said partner would be happy with.

I can see that. I'd just think that it would be like losing one of your senses. Perhaps it's unsettling the first time, but once the triggers are recognized, it can be appreciated?

I'm starting to wonder if Atsali IS this clueless, or if her brain works differently than normal, like those of us of the Aspie persuasion. We know she sees sexuality in a way that seems very odd. Perhaps the same applies to the way she receives and processes certain types of information. If she understands things on one level, and then has to expend considerable time and effort figuring out how the rest of the world would see and react to that, that might account for these time delayed 'revelations'.

And Nadette can't foresee events with those she's emotionally involved with? Uh-oh. I wonder how far that goes. Atsali is becoming one of the key figures in the paranormal community and a lightning rod for events. If someone decided she was a danger to their goals and moved to eliminate her, would Nadette see it coming or does her Atsali blindness extend to even major threats?

I wonder if her brain function was altered permanently because of the Lanthian Computer. It seems like she needs to go through all the scenarios before she gets to the appropriate "match" - a bit like a blunt search through a database.

Still - Nadette knows what she signed up for. The kisses must be worth it.

We now have a new unit of "Interpersonal Relationship Density", the 'Atsali', although I think most people will be measured in miliAtsali or even microAtsali (µAtsali).

Sometimes i feel like i am mighty dense at times. Atsali said her powers dont work on anyone who loves her. Nadette says her dont work on for anyone she is emotionally involved with. Could we be seeing a trend here? Can strong emotions block mental based parapowers?

I'm not sure what's going on with Atsali... there are a couple of possibilities...

1. Atsali isn't stupid about sex and sex related stuff and is in complete denial because if she starts to care, she's afraid of the same outcome as the horned girl. Not saying they were involved that way, but kids do form special attachments (friendships, not sexual relationships) when that young and can be quite devastated when something horrible like that happens.

2. Atsali has her species hard wired instincts, but no practical experience. She knows what they are capable of, knows how they act and react, but is afraid to let that side of herself through.

3. Atsali has all the knowledge and instinct and is stupid in the way that she has no earthly idea how to put it into practical experience.

Thinking about this made me wonder... WHY did horned girl commit suicide? Did Atsali's song draw her in, then Atsali's denseness to he situation make her think Atsali didn't care, causing her to hang herself? Is THAT why Atsali keeps her picture and holds a special place in at least her memories for her? That brings up another very important question. How will this affect Nadette's feelings for Atsali and their relationship?

We really need to see what caused horned girl to want to end her own life to try and figure out what's wrong with Atsali. It's almost as if there is a self imposed block there... She's smart... she's learned... she's just... I don't know... there's a spark missing... or repressed.

You can study something until you're an expert on all that is written about it. But somethings you just have to experience to know. Like Sally in the black and white room; an expert on all the knowledge of color, yet she's only experienced shades of gray.
