I think some alterations to the clothes may be necessary.

Seems Atsali has galloping mouth syndrome.

She's really not all that entrenched, ensconced, or elucidated in the ways of Queen Bee-ness. All those that see her as top of the pecking order (ha) have no idea she has no idea how to act. So, she's just herself, and that's refreshing to all others, or will be once everyone get out of their old ruts and into her new groove.

I'm reminded a bit of the protagonist of Piper's "Lone Star Planet", who recalled his hazing during his schooling in diplomacy. He was required, by the upper classmen, to sit on a one-legged stool, drinking tea and making polite social conversation, while being randomly pelted by ping-pong balls thrown by the older students.

In retrospect, he considered it an excellent education in how to remain unflappable in the face of the unexpected.

If Devyn survives the day at the pool without having her brain explode, she'll be able to handle almost anything.

Poor little Devyn, how does one tell your idol that she is over proportioned for a model. How does it feel to find one has the same prejudices that one went off on another earlier? Yes embarrassing indeed.

Devyn's getting a little braver - she's able to say "Uhh" instead of "squeek"...

Or for all that we know, Devyn may specialise in outfits for critters with body shapes totally unlike Atsali's or any humanoid's.

That's my take. That, and Atsali would be a bit of a challenge for someone just starting out. Then, there was that episode of the Cosby show, where one of the sisters said she could make the brother a knock off of that big name jacket, and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference...

Atsali seems to be near bursting with potential and possibilities in that first panel...

ps- lil'bit could clear the whole thing up with "but I'm just getting started..."
