I cant decide if the look on Jessie's face is a nice one or a vengeance one.

She's blushing- she KNOWS this is bad news for Atsali and doesn't want to discuss it in front of Dan- I wouldn't be surprised if Jessie calls Atsali to see if she's alright.

From out in left field i am wondering if the look on her face reminds anyone else of the look on a certain little carebear when Stali is mentioned.

I don't see any sinister motive in her smile. More like smiling in happiness for her brother and blushing because she knows he is hot.

Ugh. I'm getting high school flashbacks... cheerleaders and bimbos gossiping and spreading malicious rumors for the fun of seeing another human being's spirit be broken... Bleargh.
(Yes, my high school really was that stereotypical. And horrible.)

Ehhh... I didn't think they were "friendly" like that... I kinda saw it as an alliance. Strictly business.

Now I have "Jessie's Girl" stuck in my head. Just the end, where the singer is just repeating the words "Jessie's girl" over and over, along with a repetitive guitar riff.

Jessie is going to frazzle her scales off worrying over how to handle this where Atsali is concerned. Then she'll find out how Jacob was spooked into her brother's line of sight.

I see nothing in this comic to indicate Jessie knows about the Jacob and Atsali date, only that she knows of Jacob, and that he is a satyr. She simply seems pleased for her brother.

I kinda get the vibe Jessie might know Jacob, or of him as well, and perhaps has her own little crush on him?

It could be that or just that they are in some of the same classes. That is if she is not feeling evil. (Her teeth being human like in the last panel and not sharp might just show a benign feeling so not evil.)

Upon further inspection I have a very disconcerting suspicion that what we see here is a Stepford Smiler's smile.

If it wasn't for the blush, I'd be convinced.

I suspect that she's embarrassed her brother is dating one of "THEM" I mean, ohmighod! My brother is going to get such a reputation as a slut after this. UGH! Everyone at school is going to MOCK me over this! I'm going to DIE! Why can't my brother date a nice, well, anything!
