The fact that Kevin says he'll still be around gives me hope. A dim hope, depending on what Monica does in the near and not-so-near future, but hope nevertheless.

He's not going to try to hang on to Monica for dear life, but it sounds like he's not altogether dismissing her, either. And he does recognize that she is in a world of hurt, and that he may not, at the moment, be able to help her.

Sounds like quite the level-headed, if hurt, kind of guy.

Well Ms Acacia was a dance instructor for a while, she might still be.

And Bud happens to be a dance instructor... Fancy that...

It's not like he wasn't told multiple times over the years that Bud has a crush on him. This just happens to be the first time that the information is both pertinent and something that can be safely acted upon.

Savvy enough to understand the futility of trying to push a piece of string. As he said, Monica made her choice; wishing and moping on his part won't un-make her decision.

Kevin took dance lessons from Bud quite a while back. So I think that it means he noticed her feelings toward him at the time.

Maybe Acacia could give Kevin the name of the studio where she works. Maybe mention that she gets a bonus for every new member that comes in. Maybe Acacia could offer Kevin a ...... "Discount"?

he already knows where she works. he took dance lessons from her there in order to impress Monica. Bud tried to get out of it due to her feeling of conflict-of-interest, but he overruled that by saying that the owner/manager had said she was the best instructor they had...

I wonder... how much does Kevin know about Bud's nature and history? There could be a whole other round of nervous disclosures and trust-building waiting in the wings... and it seems to me that Bud is much more overtly powerful than Monica. Kevin's time with Monica might make him comfortable with the idea... or, he might draw back and say "no more paranormal drama, give me a nice human girl from Idaho!"

A Crush

You would think this would be a "once bitten, twice shy" kind of situation here. Going for another paranormal seems like the last thing he would want to do. What if she "outgrows" him too should be the foremost thing on his mind concerning Bud. She might dump him for his own good as well. Of course considering Monica seemed to be a normal woman at first, he could pick another seemingly normal woman who is a paranormal yet again. The Wapsi area seems to be chock-a-block full of them. Even in Monica's local clique, there is Shelly, Kath, and Tina. Not to mention the GGs. What are the odds? He may have just as good a chance at picking another paranormal as a normal with his luck. At least he knows what he's getting with Bud. But is Bud going to be OK with being the rebound girl?

Of course, Paul has a habit of misdirection and unforeseen twists. For all we know he could end up with Tina or become Nudge's plaything.
