I would guess that while Atsali and the ursamorph twins are on stage, Cricket is spending at least some of her out-of-school hours in the Library stacks, continuing her research in pursuit of a fae counter-curse. Might take a while, especially as Cricket doesn't always seem to have full command of her powers.
She should be careful what she looks up, though. Puns being what they are, a "counter-curse" might be something which would be catastrophic if deployed at Mucho Mocha.
(Q: is "until I know he single" a typo, or dialect?)
EDIT: it was a typo. Fixed now.

Means that he doesn't have someone else he is more than a friend with. Atsali doesn't want to either be disappointed or hurt someone by accident.
She also doesn't want to be seen as displaying siren type behavior or abusing her newly acquired social position to achieve it.

Yes, got that... I understand Atsali's caution... but it would more commonly be said "until I know
he's single" (or "
he is single"). The abrupt "he single" is what jarred me... that's what I was asking about.

I caught that from your first post... if I were a better artist, I would've whipped up a panel with Pablo chasing an elusive
's around his studio.

Why vicariously, I wonder?
I suppose dating and romance could be an interesting and complex matter for shapeshifters such as ursamorphs. They probably wouldn't be subject to the same body-image angsts as most teens (Atsali being an exemplar), since they have no fixed body image to be stuck with.
On the other hand, they might very well be subject to a jealousy from their peers (a bit like what Atsali faces) since they're equipped to take on whatever form a potential "main squeeze" might find most attractive. Non-shapeshifters might consider this an "unfair advantage" and/or really creepy. And how would they know if a boy (or girl) "loves them for themselves" when their physical selves are so inconstant?
And who knows what their biology is like... they might be pre-pubertal despite their chosen forms.
Interesting characters for sure... Nadette's Seer powers just add to the fun!

Probably they don't qualify as "
best buds", more like "
hanger-on's". The island is special, someplace you only share with a few close friends, it wouldn't be special if it was crowded.
Besides, given the "
country club" references the tuna girls are probably somewhere on a yacht.

Part of this is due to the fact probably most of the kids in this school do not live near it. With the transport systems available a number of them go to the school but live elsewhere in the world. This makes it very hard to date except those who live near where you live. MIB does provide Poit service to get kids to school after all. So unless a boy has access to the family transporter, or lives near a girl, how can they date? They meet at school, they can communicate through computers and phones, but getting together?? Not likely.
This also implies the bear girls do not have a lot of boys they like or are interested in either. Add to the fact they appear to consider their situation requires them to be stand offish to anyone not of their tribe, this is a guess based upon bear and Native American behavior. It's the combination of the two that would make them this way. Being a seer and her protector is the situation I'm referring to.

The Bumbling Bumblebee eventually retired from the superhero sidekick game and wrote a tell all book about the Crimson Mantis revealing her voracious eating habits and that yes, those ARE real. He and a reformed Dr. Custard later formed a partnership staging interventions on supervillains to try to keep them from falling prey to tropes and behaving badly.
(I would assume at some point Cricket's spell wore off and he regained his normal size. Hopefully not while he was wearing Monica's old doll clothes, for the sake of both dog and clothes.)

That would depend on how the relationship between the Bearz, Atsali, Cricket, and the Mermaids has developed. They might all be a pack by now.

Atsali ought to turn the questioning around, and ask the Cubs about their luck on the field of Luuuuuuuuuuv.

"True form"?
Does that concept even have meaning?

Not so. Their true form is not actually wearing any clothes.
... which I guess means we wont be seeing their true forms the first few years, at least.
