Well she always had her own bed, she just liked the idea of sleeping in the vase because it would hold her together if she came undone in the night.

I love that little lamp, it's just so suited to Castela.

Notice to even her drawing has mama with 3 white dots in each eye. Showing the souls in balance maybe?

pre-PS; I don't think Tanta Phix be on the wall, I think somebody thought so though.

I also noticed Atsali, (at the apex), and Mama are center-line. There's something called 'Primacy of Place', it's most showing itself with people in an instinctive manner...

She needs a dancing Groot next to the lamp.

How much has Pickle been exposed to Shelly? I would think that first drawing is more likely to be Tante Phix, which she's had much more contact with... even before her new found family situation.

One thing I had forgotten to mention; stick figures or no, most of them seem to be with arms agape er akimbo, welcoming, inviting hugs...

She's had enough contact with Shelly to consider her a hero and a giver of gifts (see here and the next day's strip).

The first drawing has black hair, as Shelly does. I think Phix has always been portrayed as blonde, and the rest of Pickle's wall drawings seem to have hair consistent with how Pablo has shown the characters, so... It would be odd if Pickle had chosen to draw Phix with black hair.

(In looking at that next day's strip, where Phix sternly says "Do not let them down", I was struck by Paul's attention to detail. Phix's pupils are drawn twice... once in direct view, and once at the upper edge of her eyeglass lenses. This is just what you'd actually see in real glass or plastic lenses due to diffraction, if Phix were nearsighted and had concave lenses. People used to say that reading a lot caused nearsightedness, and I've read that science actually backs this up to some extent... I guess that the problem is even worse for sphinxes stuck in a Library for over 80,000 years! )

Hair's too long, too, i'd say, to be Phix.
