why the heck would she want to wash her hair in LOX? wouldn't it be just a wee too bit cold?Dave wrote:(that's not "flowing lox", by the way. If it were I'd be offering this which, although it's also high in essential fatty acids, is probably not what Castela would want to have used on her hair.)Atomic wrote:Pun Jar. Now.
No, that's just a lox myth... a key misunderstanding in popular culture, which comes from the Irish legend about Finn Mac Cool and the Salmon of Knowledge I imagine.scantrontb wrote:why the heck would she want to wash her hair in LOX? wouldn't it be just a wee too bit cold?
HUH? what the heck does a Salmon of Knowledge have to do with LIQUID OXYGEN??Dave wrote:No, that's just a lox myth... a key misunderstanding in popular culture, which comes from the Irish legend about Finn Mac Cool and the Salmon of Knowledge I imagine.scantrontb wrote:why the heck would she want to wash her hair in LOX? wouldn't it be just a wee too bit cold?
Acronym collision - "lox" can refer to Liquid Oxygen, or to a dish made from salmon. The latter is why I originally used the term as a play on the words "flowing locks" with a reference to salmon oil.scantrontb wrote:HUH? what the heck does a Salmon of Knowledge have to do with LIQUID OXYGEN??Dave wrote:No, that's just a lox myth... a key misunderstanding in popular culture, which comes from the Irish legend about Finn Mac Cool and the Salmon of Knowledge I imagine.scantrontb wrote:why the heck would she want to wash her hair in LOX? wouldn't it be just a wee too bit cold?

So, I decided to play further and bring together Fin Mac Cool (for your "too cold" question) and the Salmon of Knowledge (for lox, as a way of serving salmon).
I saw it, and quite enjoyed it... fascinating to see the fiery reaction, slowed down like that.scantrontb wrote:AaaHah!... "i see" said the blind carpenter as he picked up his hammer and saw... i thought that you just hadn't clicked the link to the Periodic Videos video...
Heh. Back in the Sixties, my parents and i had to explain some terminology to each other so that we could mutually understand a pun in his Alan Sherman's song "Don't Buy the Liverwurst".scantrontb wrote:AaaHah!...
