Bia the way, she doesn't think you can do it.

Phix, I cannot believe you played the Bia card!

Oh, Monica, Monica, Monica!
I think Phix's wings don't come entirely from her sphinx ancestors. She's clearly part gull, as well.
Bia looks a couple of years older than when we last saw her... maybe ten or eleven now, human-equivalent?

Okay, that was magnificent.
Phix: Of course I'd never use reverse psychology on you, much less after being explicitly called on it... That would be silly! Why, I might as well try an appeal to vanity, or your opposition to a third party... But you're far too smart for any of that!

M is for Mentoring...
M is also for Monica...
but in this case...
M is for MANIPULATIVE!!!!
Shame on you Phix... for manipulating Mon into mentoring Cricket AND into putting the fear of God into Bia.
I imagine Phix is sitting back with a smug look on her face about now, proud of herself that she killed those two birds with one stone.

You got to get up pretty early to put one over Monica nowadays. But Phix is always three steps ahead...

Oooh Phix, you are BAD. (And that's good.)
Anyhow, I'm curious about what Bia's looked up. Obviously one of Phix's red herrings, but I'm still curious.

The best red herrings are the ones that aren't. This will come into play later. She looked up a family tree.

Wheels within wheels within wheels within wheels within wheels within wheels...
Who's been doing this for how many millennia now?

Phix, you're letting the strings show on that puppet.

This is the first time we've seen Monica "on screen" speak to Bia, at least with Bia acknowledging her presence. Though they've come mighty close:

Bia has yet to say anything directly to Monica Villareal, as far as we've seen.

Oh, Monica. "You can fool some of the people all the time, and all of the people some of the time... but Phix can play Monica like a flute whenever she wants." (shakes head sadly)
Am I the only one astonished Phix has let Bia back into the Library, and not so she can slam her head through walls? I would have thought, even with Phix's efforts not to be a monster anymore, and Bia's contrition and return to childhood, that THAT grudge would take time to fade...

Are you kidding? Bia is geased by her dad to appear as a child, and only be allowed to leave when a "perceived adult" dismisses her.
Phix is invincible in the Library.
Now do the math.
Bia is become an everlasting gobstopper filled with catnip. A batting game Phix can bond over with Nudge.
...
...That said, more seriously, Phix is showing-not-telling Monica how to handle mentoring. And Phix is rebonding with Shelly/Conscience: She can't afford to
screw up this opportunity, either.
Because hating on Bia would be compounding the abuse
Bia experienced. Just because we haven't seen it or heard it yet, doesn't mean it isn't there.
Or to quote Bia from extant real world ancient sources:
" "

Monica has been played like a fiddle. Then again, given the age difference, I'd expect Phix to be able to do that for a few centuries.

Bia...resident go-fer, punching bag, and scapegoat.

I should be disappointed in Phix for not being straightforward with M and terrorizing Bia with little to no warning...but instead I'm amused and very pleased.

Sure Monica, you're no longer naive enough for reverse psychology.
Whatever you say

Everybody is acting like the girl in the last two panels is Bia, but from the dialog with Phix I'm thinking that Monica has learned to either shapeshift or glamour.

And now, from
Bia's point of view...
