Curb Stomp on the Beach...

...or is it?

(Why am I editing a thread over a year old?)

Good question. Connie's last statement implies... well, I'm honestly not sure what. She's got an agenda, but I can't figure what angle (or jagged combination of angles) it's coming from.

Could be "You've got a lot to make up for, so do a good job of it" I suppose.

Wow!....Just. WOW! The little Elemental is holding her own. I take it to mean Cree- I mean Conscience has been giving Bia a few 'Love-Taps' just to get her attention and I would say, She HAS it.

Not a curb stomp, more of a "negative reinforcement". Pay attention to Connie's last sentence, and precede it with "You've been given a second chance..."

Seems to me that Connie is being a little too violent/dramatic just to make a point to Bia not to fuck it up. There is something underlying her anger, which so far as I know is unwarranted. Yes, Bia screwed Shelly over bog-time, bug since Shelly herself seems rather blah about it, why is Connie so upset? Or is Shelly blah because she knows that Connie is "speaking/acting" for her? I still think that in a true 1 on 1 fight. Bia would wipe the floor with Connie, whom I have generally thought of as a prima donna.
To be honest, I think they both - and in fact, almost all of them, except Tina - could stand being taken down a peg or two.

Oh, I can think of one HUGE reason why Connie is pissed at Bia.

Faking the death of her "host's" mother.

"You're better qualified."
"But, you have more experience."
"Ya, but you are older."
"You have more authority."
"Draw straws?"
"How about a coin toss?"
"Not with your 'Luck' Coin!"
"What's wrong with my coin!"

meh - if the victim does not go around hurting or using people, the urge to "put some one down a peg" is just cruel impulse - and if someone is merely overconfident - well that is self correcting.

If Connie is indeed ranked as a pure elemental, her power should be the equivalent to that of the Chimera in one element, probably strength (earth). Which would be a good reason not to cross her, or be scared to death of her.

Connie is angry because Bia is going about things all wrong and saying things that are making the situation worse. i.e. fucking it up.

Bia has to explain what she is trying to do, what her goals are, and what she has done and why. She also has to apologize for where she mucked things up unintentionally.

Why am I hearing - in the background - a radio voice of old "DOWN GOES FRAZIER - DOWN GOES FRAZIER" (Howard Cosell) And I'm old enough to admit hearing it on my fathers' very expensive at the time radio. It was that experience that got me into Ham Radio in my early adult life - before the CB Radio craze.

"There are two others on this rock I trust"

:?:

Now, does Connie mean there are (just) two people here that she trusts, or that there are 2 + 1 people?

either way, Connie trusts Tina -> Connie believes that Tina cannot lie^ -> Connie knows Bia "has returned to an innocent state"

and she attack Bia anyway

-> attacked an innocent

beat her to a pulp

-> an innocent

Connie's done a bad bad thing :(

-----

^ even if Tina cannot lie, some of the best deceptions use truth ;)

She mentioned the other one she trusts: Shelly.

And "an innocent state" =/= "innocent".

As the element of Conscience (her own name for herself) she is the First Lady of self-examination.

She would not exist if it were not for Bia's abandonment of Shelly, and Shelly's yearning into the silence that forged her from beings that predate the universe, and at least one human soul. So no, Bia has no advantage in this fight. She literally can neither run nor hide.

Bia is precisely the prey Connie was born to catch.

Bia does not seem surprised at Connie's existence; so using deception in her presence was likely out of a genuine fear of this happening. Born of Styx, Bia has been invulnerable to the hurts of the world. So her Achilles heel has always lain within.

So does that mean Connie's next move is dipping Bia into the ocean while holding her by the heels?

I wouldn't call it negative reinforcement. Consider who is getting the lesson. Bia is a Titan who, while can feel what she is receiving, is not really damaged to any great extent by this lesson. So this is a clue by four to Bia from Connie. Since she was returned to an innocent state, returned to her youthful personality, her hardened manipulative personality was reset as well. Since Connie is an elemental, her lessons tend to be the same way, very elemental. So Bia has had her wrist slapped and gently told okay you'll get you chance just don't screw it up or we will be talking again.

I do find it interesting the Connie does not trust Monica! Shelly does trust Monica so why doesn't Connie? Makes you wonder doesn't it.

We know Connie trusts Tina because Tina cannot lie and can sees the truth. We might need to check that out as well. If Tina has made the step to a single entity and gained even more free will that opens the door to lying and misleading others as well doesn't it? How long until Tina realizes that?

I thought Tina or Monica would be the most likely to intervene but they are too smart to do that. Tina is right that Connie is no longer a demon. But doesn't that imply Tina is no longer a demon either? So is Tina on the way to becoming an elemental or does it require the what ever Shelly did to Connie to create one.

Point: While an elemental is powerful within their element, we don't know Connie's element by the way. They would not be a strong as the Chimera, or a Titan. The Chimera power crosses elemental lines and are near titan level, if not equal. Bia could stop Connie if she wanted to. I suspect her desire to straighten things out is the reason she doesn't. Bia's youthful reset could also play a part in that as she is too surprised by the assault to respond, but I think she is choosing to not respond to Connie.

We are in for a lot of new information here shortly. Bia is about to start talking about why she is doing things and maybe even what her goal is. Just like when the girls finally were told about the calendar and that they had to fix it. I suspect their next mission briefing is about to occur.
