Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Ever read "Lone Star Planet" by H. Beam Piper? The planet of New Texas had one like that, in spades... which applied only to "practicing politicians".

Well, OLD Texas once upon a time had (and may still have) the "He needed killin' " clause - If someone killed a habitual criminal troublemaker, it was viewed more as a public service than a crime......

I love how this "Beverage at Mucho Mocha" thread has turned into a "Texas's allowable death laws" thread. :P

Seriously though...the cynic in me loves some of the things Texas has a reputation for, but the sociable intelligent me cringes to think that's how we're known. :)

Yeah. I was born and raised in Killeen. I thought Texas' rep was awesome, and I loved sharing that rep as a kid......Dagnab it, none of the smilies has a cowboy hat.....=):)

I know Texans as the most honest, friendly, wonderful folks I have ever met.
Living as close as I do to Gary, IN(and having worked in sections of said city before the reformation began) and having been stalked before, I am a bit skittish of someone following me.
I was in one of those HUGE malls in Dallas(they have an AMC theatre in it, and a bunch of tourist traps there). I had almost made it to the theatre, when I spun around ready to punch the guy that I knew had been following me and my son for ten minutes...only to have him return my wallet.
He followed me at a distance because he was afraid of spooking me, and because I did not know the, "excuse me Ma'am!" was directed at me.
I felt awful, and he said he was worried I couldn't care for my son without it, so he was making sure we were safe, and also told me my secondary belt had snapped, which was why my wallet fell out of my purse. He also told me where to get a repair kit for it, only to have one of my friends that noticed I was not with them, do the howdy thanks routine. I got all sorts of answers in a hurry about any subject I was interested in, and always a smile...and such politeness. I do not know what I would do if I ever encountered a rude one.

SO Miss Julie, no, that is not all Texans are known for.
