That helped a lot more than Monica did. The first girls of her age group she reveals to do not reject her, or call her names, is very big. You can tell from her smile at the end their explanation mattered to her. I can see why Sali took their comments wrong as she was feeling very self conscious at that time. But they set her mind at ease. So that is a big plus to boost Sali. It might give her the inner strength to deal with the air heads who do get on her about it.

And I've been wondering about their fur color and their taste in popular music, ever since I realized that "ursamorphs" is an anagram for "AOR smurphs".

They do seem like good folks, though! Wonder what their background and upbringing is... they definitely seem to be at the "kind and level-headed" end of the usual teen spectrum.

D'awwwwwww... It seems that the bear twins knew Atsali had wrapped herself... and were concerned. I think if Atsali was looking like she was going to cry... she certainly will now. The tap looks about ready to burst in that last panel! I get the feeling that Pickle, having had her ice cream, will come back with a serious case of jabber jaw... and the bears will give her an overly polite lesson in how words can hurt other people's feelings, or give them a low opinion about themselves.

Castela is okay with the change from what we've seen... she's excited and feels she has to share her feelings too. She just doesn't understand that what she's saying in her excitement is making Atsali self-conscious. Wouldn't it be interesting if it came out that the bears had wrapped themselves too? For the same reason?

And if it ain't obvious, I did it solely for teh funny - as the others have pointed out "IT'S A CARTOON CHARACTER DUMB@$$!"

Oh, and it was because Tweety was pink at first made him-her-it look nekkid, so they made Tweety yaller.

We've already established 'Sali as being tall enough to be an NBA center... just how tall are Da Bears?

From what I have heard (this may be apocryphal) the Tweety Bird problem happened because in one early cartoon when Tweety had no feathers a character said "Here comes the naked genius". After that the censors thew a fit. Before that they didn't notice it, ignorance is bliss I guess.

More than likely they learned it when they rushed to Sali's aid when she passed out. Checking her breathing or listening for a heart beat would have been a give away. It is also possible they were told why Sali had passed out. Bud would have as I can see the twins being very concerned for Sali and wanting to know what happened. So they most likely did not know before hand but do now.

Who ever gives the silence is golden rule lesson it won't be the bears. Kathy would be better.

The main thing is the Bear-girls hung around to see if Atsali was Okay. They were generally worried about her and didn't abandon her when she made her 'little speech'. Looks like Atsali and Castella have two new friends. + .......and now that I think of it, if a 15 year old Atsali towers over Monica, then these two girls must be Gi-normous!!

Well, Monica is supposed to be 4'11" if I remember correctly. Atsali appears to be a head taller, say 6'0' max. The bear sisters could be over 7", but remember they seem to be flexible shifters, so they could be shorter at school.

Don't think Atsali would have a good body shape for basket ball any more. Monica seems to avoid exercize like the plague.
Maybe Atsali could get together with Shelley and start a hang gliding club for paranormals http://wapsisquare.com/comic/what-they-want/ for exersize.

Monica is 4 foot 10 (and 28 G if memory serves). This puts Atsali about 5 Foot 10 or so, and the Bearettes would be about 6 foot 6 ish.

When Atsali fainted (HERE), she literally scared the pants off of them

although, looking at Berdine & Nadette first appearance, the pants may of already disappeared by the fainting page (it's a bit hard to be 100% sure) - suggesting the pants were part of "the look" they were mimicking?

I don't think so.

Atsali (apparently) walked up to Berdine & Nadette in the first panel and in the second she is doing the "tall girl slouch" (but for a different reason) so she looks a little shorter than usual.

In the third panel Atsali seems to be even more hunched over so seems even shorter than the second panel.


If I was to guess, looking at the second panel, if Atsali stood up straight she would be about half a head shorter than Berdine & Nadette.
