So Castela's "skin" isn't wavy or scaly. That is Paul's way of drawing tightly packed vines. Either that or she is a living angry thought bubble.

Oh, in a week or so, Paul will get around to showing us Monica and Jet (possibly with Shelly by their side) fighting off hordes of apos who think Tina has violated the terms of her probation...

That was my first thought, yeah. I don't think the entire process of Beetle becoming misshapen is ever really shown, but obviously he can reconstruct himself, too.

And Castela is not a Pod Person, she is plainly Very Much Herself.
