I would rather have a few pinups and the story continued by a live artist than have bad art or worse, a storyline cut off by an artist unable to continue because of failing health.

Get better soon Paul! Both you and your son!!! I can't imagine there is anything worse than being sick and having your children sick too. Sometimes I feel I'm worse than any sick child when I get sick... whiny and irritable. You take care of you and your son (and any other family members that fall to this malady) we'll be here when you get back, eagerly jonesing for more Wapsi!!!

You and your boy get better, try to survive the convention, and take however long it takes.

I'll keep checking back, even if the hiatus is more than a week or two - i still check in on Evil Diva, Mysteries of the Arcana and Venus Envy periodically.

You do what you must for your and your families health. (And high fever in a child is never a hangnail so we got your back)

Seconded (or thirded, or tenthed, or whatever)!

Take good care of yourself and your lad, Paul. That's what's important.

Been there--sick as a dog, but you feel worse about your child being sick than yourself.

Take care of yourself and him. We'll be here on your return.

Health first and all that. After such a crunchy story line, a little fluff and filler is relief. Get Well Soonish!

THIRDED - if there is a word. Just Get well and the same for your son. Cold Orange Juice followed with a Hot Tea always does wonders for me. ;)

Fourtheded. We don't want you to drop dead mid story (or at all) like the animator in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Paul.

Or Keychain of Creation, which came to a really cool point and stopped because the artist could no longer draw due to tendonitis. :(

Worth reading, though, as long as you can accept that the last story arc gets only a brief setup.

I hope Paul takes as long as he needs.

This does confirm that there will be more to this storyline and that Monica likely isn't going to "just shake it off".

At least she has friends have been where she's where she is right now. Hopefully, Jin, Brandi and Bud can help her work through it.

Well, shall we start a game of Borogove in the confusion corner?

The artist of Widdershins started another Exalted comic called Manse of Ivy, if you're interested in that sort of thing.

Take all the time you need, Paul, and get well. We'll be fine; though I can't guarantee we won't get bored, trawl through the archives and do some more re-scripting. ;)

Get well soon - and please don't drag yourself to that convention if you're still not feeling well by then; health always comes first.

(Also, I think there's several orders of magnitude between "hangnail" and what you've described...)

Paul, you and the lil un get well soon. If this is anything like the ear thing that's going around around here, be on guard for weakness and dizzyness, and guzzle the fluids. This is not a hangnail, this is being tackled by Acacia. In the ear.

Travel safe; we'll all be throwing pastries here till you get back.

Take whatever time you need for you and your son to heal.

But feel free to post more pin-ups like today's. :)

I hate "me, too" posts, but ... me, too. We want you, and yours, in good health; we want Waspi Square to be what you want it to be. Take the time you need.

(One of the other webcomics I follow, Lovecraft Is Missing, took an extended hiatus of unspecified length right as the story was approaching a crisis; the audience there held on. I think we're at least as hooked on WS. One request: If you ever do need to take a break of more than a few weeks, set up a mailing list to notify us when you resume.

While I love this sketch of Monica (the glasses make it for me; "nerdy, dirty, and curvy" as the Velma t-shirts put it), I'm unlikely to actually hang a pin-up unless it has some explicit fantasy/SF content. I need to look thru the catalog and see what we've got of the semihumans/demigods, or of the characters in costume. And at some point I need to throw some money at the books.

It's gotta be the weather up here. Seems like most of North Central Wisconsin is fighting off (cough cough) crud of one kind or the (sniff) other.

Get better soon, Pablo & Pablo Jr.
