Ah, the delivery of the rocket(s).

Love Panel One - as Phix takes a moment to simmer to reach the precise required temperature before unleashing her wrath.

==========

EDIT to add: It's a nice carpet, though.

I just knew Phix would find out about this... question is, did they at least get dinner before getting their asses chewed?

I like the different reactions - Shelly is like, "Am I bovvered?" and Monica is like "Me? You talkin' to me?"

I do hope so. A good tasty meal of fish (with chips?) may help tide them over until their next meal... which they won't enjoy anywhere near as much.

You just know they're going to be eating crow.

You could be right... but OMG... check out the first panel... if the deep breathing and yelling weren't enough to signify Phix's pissed offedness, check out the dreaded black scribble above her head in the first panel. She's one Pissed off Sphinx!!!!

I'm waiting for Monica to tell Phix to reel it in or she'll be forced to bitch slap her again... Sure, Phix took a swipe at Monica once resulting in a face off situation (literally), but Monica regenerates... Phix? I'm thinking not so much...

Well M is still in her LBD but Shelly is wearing her usual tank and jeans, so I would say...maybe?

With Phix being Monica's mentor, and Shelly's Gramma and mentor, I think the voice of authority should work well with them both. If not, maybe we'll get to see Phix showing how to reign in the young 'uns...

Actually she's calming herself down, not working herself up. As an apex predator, and as she once demonstrated on another apo, strikes out when angry. She wants to be calm enough to chew them out, not chew then up.

What I find interesting is the parent-child behavior of Phix and the girls. Teenagers getting yelled at for causing trouble. IT fits as both Monica and Shelly can be considered children among immortals. Or as the song goes, "Mommy's gonna take the T-Bird away!"
Ambush questions are fun. Watching the mental impact of them as they distort, or crumble, opinions based on faulty logic.

Look at today's neckline, it says sexy, but sensible. Friday's says "I'm not paying for my drinks."

I know Phix is playing the role of responsible adult here, and from their expressions, M and Shelly acknowledge they done messed up.

But the honest answer to Phix's question is "yes".

Jaguar Girl is the first sub titan in forever, and Shelly is the first Titan/Sphinx hybrid. Ever.

They really are that special.

It doesn't mean the should go around making everyone's lives difficult, though.

From the way she started I bet Phix's upcoming lecture is going to look something like this http://wapsisquare.com/comic/a-debriefing/.

"Yes" can only be the answer if they were thinking at all which I doubt they were.

Apoplectic, in a sphinxish sort of way?

To me, both Monica's expression, and Shelly's, have at least some grudging element of "It's a fair cop" in them. I have a feeling that both of these young Titans do realize that their behavior was careless (at the least).

It's characteristic of human adolescents that they (we) tend to act without really thinking out the potential consequences. Shelly and Monica may both be in a bit of "second childhood" in dealing with the relationship between their human and paranormal sides.

I blame the delicious aroma of the fish place...and by their looks they have like zero regrets.

As Diane said when she suddenly suspected that she might be pregnant immediately after her honeymoon, when Edda asked "What were you thinking?":

"Thinking was in very short supply."

Now that Unicorn Sparkle Toot Monica (per NOTDilbert) is back to her "normal" self, just what do you expect from a hard driving, hard drinking adventurer and her equally hard/thick headed buddy?

Ok -- time to decompress, but... add their powers into the mix and introspection prior to action is waaaaay low on the list of doing things.

Is it just me or the black dress, or does Monica look, shall we say, deflated?
