It's definitely worth a try. Here in California, housing construction and the skilled building trades and the businesses which supply them are considered "essential". Neither the state nor our county seem to be making a distinction between "new construction" and "repair" and "upgrades and remodeling".

My dad was planning into the building trades, like all of his male relatives {except his grandfather who owned a saloon in Cicero, where Eugene Cermak once suffered a humiliating experience}, but his father said nope - you got that GI Bill to take you to college; use it.
Grandpa {who was a master electrician with Chicago Edison, and there's a Depression-era story that goes with thet...}told dad that there hadn't yet been twenty years straight without a catastrophic downturn in the building trades, and a white-collar job was the future.

Here's the latest quote from my wallpaper changer:
There are three ways to get something done:
- Do it yourself.
- Hire someone to do it for you.
- Forbid your kids to do it.

Here's another quote for you:
Of course I can keep secrets. It’s the people I tell them to that can’t keep them.

Well, if this latest place I've applied to doesn't give me a call, a friend gave me a lead on a way to make it much easier to get a job. I'm kinda leery about unions, but apparently there's one that could help me get into the trade.

One more, from my wallpaper changer:
K: Cobalt's metal, hard and shining;
Cobol's wordy and confining;
KOBOLDS topple when you strike them;
Don't feel bad, it's hard to like them. - The Roguelet's ABC

I got an interview at a local grocery store Monday morning as a produce clerk. So if I get the job, I may have the option of going to part time hours while I go to trade school later this year.

Be sure to save it. When you get a full set, you can trade them for glassware at your nearby gas station!

Everything stopped hurting after I took a nap, and I didn't pass anything as far as I can tell, so maybe the issue was just that I slept on a fold of the blanket (I use a thick blanket as extra padding) that pressed on a nerve.

Well congrats then! If I may ask, based on personal (multiple) experience, did you have the urge to poop much or at all during the event? If not, it may not have been a stone.

No more than normal. Either way, the discomfort is gone.

Even though I do not live in Los Angeles , I still feel vindicated, by this quote my wallpaper changer displayed:
A Los Angeles judge ruled that "a citizen may snore with immunity in
his own home, even though he may be in possession of unusual and
exceptional ability in that particular field."

I recently learned that Roman soldiers drew penises on Hadrian's wall about 1800 years ago.
Clearly, vandalizing something with penises is a time honored tradition.

It isn't always vandalizing, either. In Bhutan it's a cultural tradition... a sort of a "good luck and protection" charm that people paint on their own houses.

I wonder if the Roman soldiers in Britain had ever done a troop rotation in the Himalayas...
