Are you talking about the spider-carved crystal data buffer?jwhouk wrote:And, as I'm assuming that is THE correct answer...
What spider-related item has been used by one of our characters, other than Calista?
Or are you referring to the pot which Atsali found? (We could say it was "used" as inspiration for getting into the alcove and therefore staying alive when everything else crumbled around them...)

BZZZT! Sorry.
I kinda gave a hint in the question.

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz
Are you talking about when Monica was dreaming that she is Spider Woman, and thinking that no one would ever know it was her? The spider-related item would then be the spider web/line, just as Calista also used in the library?
Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz
Those were the two I thought of, too.jwhouk wrote:BZZZT! Sorry.

Well, that strand of spider-silk dragline was (indirectly) used by Dietzel to descend into the Library's lower floors. Calsta was carrying him. Was that what you were hinting at via "used by... other than Calista"?

Wasn't part of Monica's super $300 sports bra spider silk?Dave wrote:Those were the two I thought of, too.jwhouk wrote:BZZZT! Sorry.

no, I'm no playing the quiz. If that's the correct answer, the first person to post the link gets to ask the next question, ok?

It was the bra she was wearing when Phix accidentally killed her, which cost $350.
And yes, there was spider silk involved in the special sports bra. I just happened to read it yesterday, too, yet I completely forgot...
The question is, why AREN'T you playing the quiz? You had what is most likely the right response, it wold be interesting to have new people participate...

Less importantly: my ability to remember trivia is somewhat limited. Ok for answering but not so good for setting questions (yes, I know, random page till you find something ... but)
More importantly: My 'visiting times' to this forum are erratic. I'm quite capable of going several days without checking this forum (or all the webcomics I try to read), which is a BAD thing if people have to wait 24-48+ hours for me to confirm an answer

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz
Since I found the link and posted it, after Grantwhy got the answer and offered the question to whoever would provide the link, I'll go ahead and ask. But I really must know, first: What exactly was the hint that was in the question? If it's not related to naming Calista specifically, whom we have seen either have a fried spider for lunch (yum, comfort food...), or use ... *goes to look at the comic, to get the wording right * ... spider silk as a cable...
Hmm... Spider silk...
I guess I had to look at the comic again to see the exact wording (not cable, not web, but specifically "spider silk"), to see the hint. OK, that was good. Really subtle. I was going on the swinging aspect, rather than the exact material used to swing with... Good one!

I don't have the link yet, but this is when Tepoz went to see Shelly at the garage, to try to connect some of the dots and let her in on some of what was going on. She was not happy to find out he knew about her vision quest, and she punched him (left fist). After he spewed out his shopping list, she threw an engine block at him. (There: that ought to convince you I didn't pull this out of thin air... Thick air, perhaps, but not thin air.)
Edit: here's the link.

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz
I can't really give you a hint, because that is the kind of thing you need to browse through the comic until you see it.
I can, however, reassure you: you won't have to try and decipher some scribble on the side of a box on a shelf. When you see it, Monica will be holding up the box, and the name will be visible, and legible, on the front of the box.

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz
Given that she just got up recently (a few strips back), asked Tepoz to make himself useful by making her some breakfast, which was followed by the first appearance of the Golem Girls, and their departure, followed by Tepoz offering to make breakfast, to change the subject away from the GGs, but she doesn't bite and calls him on it instead, and finally, with Monica exclaiming that she will be late for work, as she grabs the box and a bowl, I'd say it's safe to say that those are, indeed, cereal.Sidhekin wrote:Okay, I got it.
