Totally. It was the only way Tepoz could maintain control of them. They had to have Alcohol in them for his powers to work.

Brandi may have made the deal drunk but when was she sober enough to set up MIB? It's been around longer than she has been connected with Monica.

First we heard about the MiB was 2011-11-08. Bud and Brandi were sobered up by 2006-04-25. I would not put it past them to get an agency like that up and working in 5½ years. The very fact that it's an American agency suggests its connected to Monica anyways – but of course, with the time loop going, that may be the case, either way ...

Or do we know of any MiB activity before 2006-04-25?

(Even so, I would not put it past drunk Brandi to set up the MiB. Drunk Bud, maybe ...)

All this talk of when the girls were or weren't drunk...I wonder if Tepoz let the drunkeness wear off while they were lost/hidden though. After all, he hadn't seen them in a long time before he summoned them in front of Monica. While I wouldn't be surprised to learn he could maintain their drunkeness without proximity or too much thought, I'd be willing to bet that he let it lapse more than a few times. So maybe that's the window where Brandi was able to create the Vimana Grid and start up an ancient version of the MiB...and maybe not. We may never really know.

Remember - Jin was operating in the Real World long before Tepoz brought the GGs over as drunk college girls - Monica's abuela ... Shelly's Tochtli ... Aaron Sullivan's "golden-eyed lady".

Monica's abuela was Jin's mother, not Jin. But I could add saving Monica's life from that bus, so yes – Jin was active.

But Jin was a major loophole in her own right while the time loop lasted ... and before, in the creation of the Chimera ... and probably before that as well. Even before the great sobering, she was keeping Tepoz out of the loop on who she was, and she was really startled when Monica blew her cover.

And then, in the entire sequence about "giving the girls more freedom", Bud and Brandi were "the girls". Jin got no birth certificate, social security card, nor crash course in typing. My impression was that Jin was already set, and may even have been the one procuring the documents.

My impression since those events was that Tepoz never had full control of Jin – she just let him believe it.

And now I'm wondering if Stinky has yet to meet a sober Brandi ...

no, the "deal" that was made, was made with the Demon Realm, before she even became part of the Chimera... it was when the priests took her at the day-care... she had just a teensy tiny little bit of a mental breakdown, and the Demons "noticed"... the whole MIB thing was WELL AFTER the deal was established, though MIB's creation as an entity, may have been a function OF the deal, it's creation was NOT the whole "big picture"

hmmm... i was getting it from the strip 3 days earlier... here. she had just killed the baby accidentally in her fight with the priest's and says to Monica in the last panel: "they had no idea what they created THAT DAY, who i'd strike a deal with." that's why i said the deal was made even before she got converted to a GG.
