Now that we have the word of the creator that the Phoenix blood is from her birthright, and the spike is a time stopper to help her in the future, we still have two big questions:
1) Why did Bia create the blade to give Monica this boon?
2) How did Monica get a Phoenix ancestor while Bud seems to think that it is not possible for some reason? (My guesses are that a Phoenix is not supposed to be physically compatible with a human or is non corporeal)

Yup! She gets what could be a
very nice balancing of the pros and cons of immortality. She isn't burdened with the Tithonus problem (everlasting age, debility, and centuries of Depends) but also isn't stuck forever at one point in her lifetime (which could lead to monotony and boredom). She can, potentially at least, live through the years of her life many times... aging along with her lover(s) and human friends, and then eventually getting to go back for a fresh start. And, she isn't stuck with having to repeat high school over and over again.
There are worse fates than the one she has been handed.

I think there's only one problem: she noticed that her boobs were getting bigger since the spike got driven in.
Side effect of Phoenix blood, perhaps?

I'm going to guess that the blade originally had nothing whatsoever to do with Monica.
Bia was just sick and tired of her wine going sour after she had finished a half-bottle with dinner, and wanted to save the rest for the next day. So, she used her mysterious powers to create a time-stasis wine cork puller, which just happened to be in the shape of a bladed key.
It works on Monica due to the
"Solos lo que comemos" principle, of course.

I thought it was
Monica who said it was impossible for her to have Phoenix blood... don't recall Bud saying anything along those lines.

As most big girls say, they are lovely, but it would be great if you could 'take them off' sometimes!
and yeah, if Monica can control those two jokers, she needs to command them to slap each other until they beg to stop!!!!!
