Woodchuck ciders from Vermont are really good. They do a sampler 12-pack that has three each of their Amber, Granny Smith and 802 {named after the Vermont area code} and a fourth variety {identified on the package only as "Cidermaker's Choice"} which varies - one time it was the spiced, one time it was the disgustingly hoppy variety.TazManiac wrote:Yeah, there is certainly a disconnect with what the Marketing Guys have advertised on the Label vs whats actually in the Bottle.
There is true Hard Cider out there, then there is Beer with Apple Flavouring, but the worst of all is Malt Liquor with synthetic Apple 'aroma' waved somewhere in the general direction of the can during the bottling process.
I learnt to appreciate cider when i hit Fairport's Cropredy Festival in Oxfordshire in 1990/92, drinking mostly Woodpecker brand.
