The same way I get my shoulders through narrow doors, one at a time. (There are days when my shoulders bulk up wider than the door to the bathroom (24") and I have just gotten used to putting the shoulder furthest from the hinge through first, then moving away from the hinge and getting the other shoulder through). Did Phix really not know? We know she left the library from time to time and would have clandestinely gone to check on her son surely. Could she not see through Bia's "disguise?" Could she be that totally fooled. Especially during the faked death. I would think she would have heard about that and checked it out in some way. Heck, she has access to the demon world. They are behind the scenes in everything. Some of them would know.
