I was under the impression that Phix' attitude towards Tina was one of pleased curiosity at seeing what Tina was becoming, and what she would continue evolving into, not one of mere toleration.
Eventually this might be true, but initially Phix threatened Tina to keep her in line and even went so far as to cut Tina under her chin with a claw to strongly suggest that Tina savor her ignorance. These two strips specifically...

As Chester Anderson says about the six-foot blue lobsters invading Earth in The Butterfly Kid - they are almost militantly non-violent.

They are unable to employ violence, even to protect themselves.

OTOH, they have no problem about importing all sorts of nasty-attitudinal things and setting them loose in the vicinity of their intended conquestee, and if those things are violent all over you, well, it wasn't the lobsters who did it...

Dily: one small point of order. Those strips you cited? Nudge was still "in" Tina.

An important page in the current context, just after the Nudgectomy: http://wapsisquare.com/comic/be-okay/

Right... but Phix didn't know at the time. She may have suspected but didn't know for sure. Besides, Phix was after Nudge for a completely different reason.

I just had a scary thought... what if Tar just "implanted" itself inside Monica?

Yeah, she killed it, but that was before Tar "did the deed" inside her... As of right now, Doubt and company could be in the middle of a battle royale, trying to deal with this new entity that has less-than-kind thoughts about what their host did to it.

I'm inclined to think that Tar wasn't a demon...hence why it wasn't as responsive to M's "shepherding" before she flamed it out of hiding. *shrugs* Just my opinion though until we get conclusive verification from on high. :)

While this is true, you still need to consider Phix's interactions with Tina post-Nudgectomy to get a feel for their current relationship. If I had time, I'd look up their interactions post-Becky meds (at least I think there was one post-Becky meds). I feel like that would be more indicative of what we could expect between Phix and Tina moving forward.

Tar wasn't a demon, no. It's was a human evil.

ETA: Oh, the post-Becky-meds interaction was http://wapsisquare.com/comic/took-the-phone/ (which I'm pretty sure I saw linked recently, but that must have been an other thread).

(I don't think we've seen Phix outside the library since then. Unless her diving for Nudge counts. It was outside the hallway, certainly ...)

Haven't seen much of Monica's boss, either.

Thank you! That's the interaction I was referring to, but didn't have time to look for... More specifically, the one that comes two pages later:
http://wapsisquare.com/comic/ever-bother/

So like I said, a "pleased curiosity" at seeing what Tina has become and will continue to evolve into.
