One-panel Jaguar Girl full aspect.
Considering how she just dropped the hair, I'd say there's a nude sheriff in town.

I don't get why people are trying to overcomplicate matters by bringing time loops into this. Assuming the mortal Wapsi universe follows the natural cycle of big bang > existence > collapse, all Guidance is saying is that the last Jaguar Girl existed in the time before our big bang.

Of course, it also raises the question of why the jaguar species would come into existence in two different universes.

As Guidance pointed out (and, Shelly discussed in conversations with Conscience) it's a quantum thing.
Surely, you've heard of Schrodinger's Cat?

I'm not sure whether I have or have not.
On the other hand, there's that story about Heisenberg and Schrodinger traveling in a car, when they get stopped by a policeman . . .

In case anyone doesn't know it yet:
Heisenberg is driving down the highway and a cop pulls him over. Cop approaches the window and asks if he knew how fast he was going.
"No, but I know where I am."
Cop informs him of how fast he was going.
"Now I'm lost."
The cop then says "why is there a dead cat in your trunk?"
Schroedinger leans over from the passenger seat and says "well there is now."

The same exact species down to the genetic level? Likely impossible. However,
convergent evolution could have given rise to a creature similar enough in form ankd function that our label of "jaguar" can apply.
Maybe it is a universal inevitability like Swedish meatballs.

http://wapsisquare.com/comic/talkingwiththedead/
The jaguar temples described there were built before the reset moment for the time loops.
So assuming jaguar girls were the "working mechanism" of the temples, Guidance may be referring to a previous loop. We don't know whether demons really consider the Calendar's resets to be separate universes.

the comic has already hinted at things like the library and demons are far older then our little 3 dimensional bubble of a universe drifting around in the higher 11 dimensional space (M theory and all that) . interesting idea what if monica more then just a door but an expression demons interacting with a universe, the magnification of the demon realm itself. adds a interesting twist to
what doubts said to monica before they fixed the calander.
I'm likely completely wrong but it would mean were ever demons are a version of monica is born or at a jaguar girl is born.

I thought that was only in a universe with Vorlon in it.

I just noticed that comment that Guidance made: "Do you know the kind of mess there would be if demons could just exit their host?"
No wonder Monica stopped dead in her tracks with that look on her face.

Drops a copy of the world tree map into the pun jar. It can build it's own satellites by now.
(queue the music to 'Come Sail Away'.)
Dave drops a quarter into the jukebox, and queues up Grand Funk Railroad's "I'm Your Captain / Closer To Home".
I've been lost now days uncounted,
And it's months since I've seen home.
Can you hear me? Can you hear me?
Or, am I all alone?
If you return me to my home port,
I will kiss you, Mother Earth!
Take me back now, take me back now,
To the port of my birth.
Ah, isn't that
Point of Know Return by the Moody Blues?

Timotheus wrote:Monica could not manifest as the Jaguar Girl until she had the Phoenix Blood in her. That was done when she was stabbed in the head with the key blade (which was apparently made of crystallized phoenix blood) during the calendar shut down. None of her previous incarnations could have been a Jaguar girl as the shut downs all failed.
This event takes place outside that time loop, which can apparently only be exited though the event you describe. If you get this far then Monica is the Jaguar Girl. But there could be another time loop that encompasses the earlier time loop. Demons see all the time stream and are aware of all the thousands of loops in the previous cycle. If the previous Jaguar Girl(s) resembled Monica, that is a strong argument that they are inside another loop and need to search for the exit conditions.
Monica is smart enough to want to check this.

Ni!
"Come Sail Away" was by Styx, "Point of Know Return" was by Kansas, and "I'm Your Captain" (from which I quoted) was by Grand Funk Railroad. I'm not sure which Moody Blues song you're thinking of, but it wasn't one of those three. Can't be "Tuesday Afternoon" 'cause it's Thursday here.

"Point of Know Return" was a Kansas song.
The quoted lyrics were from a Grand Funk Railroad song.
