Weird. Every time i click on one of the Facebook links in your post, it crashes Opera.

I've tried links from other pages to other pages, and no problem.

I should have known you'd have the spine to make a pun like that.

Thorn puns are almost a requirement here, what with Castela and our lovable Acacia.

This is a stereo image set up for cross-eyed free viewing.

If you have trouble with cross-eyed viewing, click here for a flash-enabled viewer that will let you view the image in several stereo formats, including red/blue anaglyph and colour anaglyph.

(I spent quite a while removing a woman from one image who didn't appear in the other shot. Didn't want a ghost in the picture.)

Not old enough, yet.

And he's gonna go to the vet to be broken as soon as we can afford it.

Yeah. He insists on going out - he can be not in sight and then be out the door you open before you are.

L.A. residents call 911 to complain about Facebook outage

Mike Flacy/DigitalTrends wrote: During an early morning outage of Facebook on Friday, some Los Angeles residents thought it would be a smart idea to call 911 emergency services to ask when Facebook service would be restored.

In fact, the number of calls grew to such a large number that Sgt. Burton Brink of the Crescenta Valley station wrote “#Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don’t call us about it being down, we don’t know when FB will be back up!” on his official Twitter account. Apparently, there are a number of Los Angeles residents that believe local law enforcement agencies have some modicum of control over the Silicon Valley company.

Playing with stereo images:

Bunch of them in Flash viewer form here.

These are a few random pairs i shot in the area of the Hall County Courthouse, while i was waiting to pick Kate up after work.

Again, shot with the tablet using the "cha cha" method - take one picture, move camera to the right, take the second.  Since i moved the viewpoint more than the distance between my (or your, i assume) eyes, the images are "hyperstereo" - what a giant with eyes several inches apart, standing in a hole that put his eye level about six feet above the ground, would see.  (Another effect of hyperstereo is that it makes the objects in the images look miniaturised - not as noticeable as the enhanced depth perception, but it's there.)

You'll notice (if you look at them) that, for two of the views, there are two stereo pairs.  In each case, the second of the pair is SuperHyperStero® - with the interocular distance being greater, which gives a greater stereo effect.

{The viewer will begin in slideshow mode; you can stop that and choose your favoured viewing method with the menu at the bottom left.  I prefer cross-eyed open mode; if you have red-blue glasses handy, you can try the various anaglyph modes}

Please explain to me again how the cross-eyed style works?

And which, if any, would work with the type of glasses they give you in theaters nowadays when viewing 3-d movies?

Look Here.
If you have the Red/Blue 3D glasses, you can look at the first picture with Red on the left eye and see a 3-D effect.

The second picture is the two versions side by side, and you use the Cross-eye method to see 3-D. Open the second picture full screen (right click, View Image, etc) to remove surrounding clutter. Look at Monica and cross your eyes until you see 3 versions, side-by-side. Examine the middle image, and look at some part, such as the face or a hand until things come into focus. Once you have focus, you can enjoy the 3-D effect! The trick is to relax into it. Good Luck!
