That and Dracula in the original novel was not allergic to the sun, it only weakened some of his powers. Most of the legends of vampires do not include a sun problem either. It seems to be a component of North American folklore and not European .

Then again, if someone offered me a Tesla Z in the tackiest of colours and patterns, and asked me to drive it around like that for a year before they re-painted it I would.

But if this were the functional equivalent of a real Mini Cooper S (the original British one, not that thing from BMW) and if i could fit comfortaby into it, i'd drive it.

* Until they increase the actual range, provide charging stations as widely available and at least one third as numerous as gas stations , and reduce full charging time to ten minutes or less (and use something less likely to burn it up than a lithium ion battery), a Tesla isn't a car. It's an amusing electric go-cart.

EDIT to add: I just checked a couple of Tesla's own pages - their "Supercharger" takes thirty minutes to put about 170 miles worth of driving range into the battery, which is two-thirds to three-quarters or so of what they claim as maximum range. I'm pretty sure the reason they don't tell you how fast it can give you full range is that battery charging becomes slower as the battery becomes more fully charged, so if you get three-quarters in thirty minutes, it might take an hour for full charge.

I dont know, the tiny 'A'-car (what I ref as a 'Metro-Car') is useful for around town type jaunts, but I wouldn't want to have to rely on a trip from say SF to LA down highway 5 in one.

The guy wanted 2 grand, and I didn't have that to spare at the time. Talk about a roller skate. It's 53 inches tall. (yes, even a short person could clean the top of the car without straining). 10 inch wheels. (I think the tires made it to 12 inches). Forty miles to the gallon - in 1959.

Yes they were and no they weren't.

The Cooper was to the original Mini as the Shelby GT35 and GT500 Mustang (the real ones) were to the Mustang.

They were Minis that had been massaged and breathed on by Cooper. It was the same basic car, but a lot hairier - especially the S, which left US sales the year before the rest of the Minis, because of emissions. It wasn't worth doing the work to meet US standards, given how few they sold and the fact that they weren't going to be able to sell the car in the US at all pretty soon.

The next year the US lost all the Minis, because of the requirement for a collapsible steering column, which was impossible, given the design of the Mini's steering.

The 12-inch-wheel cars were the Austin Princess and MG 1100, which were larger than the Mini. (My dad owned an 1100.)

So I remember fondly my road trips to Texas, and all the great food I ate at the many awesome restaurants there. Of course, having a road trip with my son is going to involve quality food...

So today I found myself at Chipotles. I've been there and had incredible food there before.

I ordered a simple Burrito. Pulled Beef, Guacamole, Black Beans, Cheese, Sour cream, Salsa.

Instead of the flavourful combinations of memory, I got a Salsa layer, a Cheese layer, a Sour cream layer, and a beef layer, with beans throughout all of them, and wrapped so sloppily that the sour cream seeped out a bit and soggied the Tortilla. After a bite to open it, I had to get a parfait spoon and mix them all up.

My son ordered a VERY simple burrito. Pulled Beef and Pinto beans with his Cheese on the side. His too was not layered right at all. One half beef and the other beans.

I can understand swamped, but seriously? FreeBirds was twice as swamped, and they got it right the first time, even to the point of asking if we wanted it mixed up before it got wrapped. Even better was one of the crew remembered us from visiting years ago.

I'm rather curious to see how (or if) this problem is finally surmounted. A lack of convenient charging stations will make people reluctant to buy electric cars, but a lack of electric cars on the roads will make people reluctant to invest in building electronic charging stations. It's somewhat analogous to the change from horses to petrol-fueled automobiles, but without the radical change in properties and abilities making the newer type a popular option. It's just one type of car to another.
