I admit, I kind of felt the same, until the reply... Maybe he should have altered the image, circling what he wanted us to notice...

Her name is Sonja. Anyone know where she's from?

it's not that i need help identifying it - i know quite well; one of my favourite comics, actually - i just wanna see what kind of responses i get.

And recognising the artist won't help - it's not his comic.

On some for-sale sites (and I think in some states) you can't sell an item at retail as "new" if it's been sold before, regardless of its condition. It has to be sold as "used" or "customer returned" or something like that, even if it's in a like-new condition.

So, those being sold as "used" might be cases of paper that someone bought and returned to the store for some reason (decided they wanted a different size or weight), or over-stock that ended up not being needed, or bought at a company's bankruptcy auction, or etc.

I kind of like the "99.99% Jam-free" bit myself.

Not unless she's commonly known as Red, popularly depicted as wearing an armoured bikini and wielding a big sword, and not commonly shown lounging around reading a book.

"Sonja" is an anagram of her "real" name...

Red Sophia, back to viewer, waving her top in the air: "What do you think of THESE, hey?"

Cerebus, glancing for maybe a second: "Cerebus thinks they would heal if you stopped wearing chain-mail bikinis."

EDIT: Turns out he's had three heart attacks this month. He has a 50% blockage in the front, 95% in the back. They've put a stent in the back artery, and he's on blood thinners for a year. If he misses one dose, he could and most likely will have a massive heart attack.

Hopefully now he'll finally get the message and stop with all the snack foods. (Not even a joke; most of the time, that's the only thing to eat around the house that doesn't require a can opener.
Hope your dad is doing okay.

My dad just had stents installed October 27. My younger brother had stents installed in May.

Last night, an old friend had a heart attack and collapsed at the wheel, driving to a Halloween party. His wife was not feeling well and stayed home. They found him dead in the car after the hosts called her to ask whether they were coming. Logically, if you drop dead on your way to a Halloween party, you still show up, but still . . . .

I got wrangled into taking nieces and a nephew out to get candy. One of them is wanting to go to sleep now, but thankfully he's not at that stage where he's whining a lot.

Offer him a few pieces of the really good high-test chocolate (50% cacao or better).

He won't want to sleep after that, nor whine.

"Bounce off the walls" and "shriek lots", on the other hand... ;)

I'd do that if he was one of my sister's kids, but I won't do that to my brother.

Also, someone was smoking weed out there, because we walked through the area and I could smell it in a few areas. I wonder if the sheriff's deputy on patrol (he stopped us and gave the kids candy) noticed it.

Another quote from my wallpaper changer:
Theory is when you know something, but it doesn't work. Practice is when something works, but you don't know why. Programmers combine theory and practice: Nothing works and they don't know why.

Looking for an attribution to the quote, I ran across a few pages of interesting and/or funny computer/programming quotes:

I haven't even clicked the link, but so far, that makes two thoughts float around in my head.

One: That's some serious mad scientist shit right there.

Two: What happens if you eat it?

Oh my god, what would happen if Popeye ate it?!
