So, yeah, the person I thought was catfishing me? I was right! She (of this person is a female at all) asked for money.

From the first message, I had a feeling it was a scam.

I'm not sure why, but while sitting in my room, I had a really random thought:

Do potheads read a lot of books (or watch movies) about existentialism? There's a stereotype that potheads always talk about existential stuff when they get high.

Depends on if they mainly get existential whilst high. That might not be the best physical or mental state for reading.

I went to the mountain with my brother for the first time in more than a month. My brother is going through trail camera videos, and apparently there hasn't been any hogs near the trap in two weeks.

We may need to call in some air support...

I am assuming that there is still evidence that there are still hogs in the general vicinity... just NOT where the camera's and the trap are, correct?
if that IS the case,then I'd hazard a guess to say that they learned enough about what the camera's and trap's are for, and that since it *HASN'T CHANGED* from that location, in long enough of a time, that they've learned to avoid it entirely...

So, time to MOVE the trap i say...

And yeah, you'll need to change up the routine, like tossing some fresh veggies in there (carrots or other root vegetable, maybe a coupl'a green apples.

In my opinion, the obligation to disobey illegal orders ends somewhere around the muzzle of the sergeant's gun.

These arrived today. I haven't played a game with them yet but they respond well in the control panel settings. Other than the light weight they feel pretty close to the real thing.

It is the Sergeants whom the 'obligation to disobey illegal orders' is aimed at. If a noncom resists an illegal order, the rank and file typically follow them rather than the officer.

There's also the fact that, if illegally ordered to turn on the people, a lot of the officer corps would salute with one finger. A lot. The highest ranking officers, I'm not so confident of that, because at a certain level (I think it's from LTC and up, but not sure) getting promotions or being put in command of such and such unit sometimes becomes more of a who-you-know kind of thing, from what I've heard. Pissing off the politicians can mean the end of your career, though I hope that an officer with that sort of trouble sorting his/her priorities would be a pretty rare thing.

Army, Navy and Marine Corps will not follow illegal orders by and large. Air force I'm not too sure about- they got the 'dirty paperclips' and are very much in bed with the feds. You could easily have a full-blown military mutiny should the order be given to attack civilians on American soil... this is one reason why the current administration has low regard for the military. It is also why civilian federal authorities are stocking up on hollow point ammo- frangible ammo tends to be deadlier, and the military is not allowed to use it. Even so, there are more honorably retired vets who keep their oath than there are active duty military- and they are organized. "Quantity has it's own quality" goes the old Russian maxim, and here I would have to agree. A march on DC could turn things around without a shot fired, if done right. A show of force that clearly demonstrates the value of the 2nd amendment. Mind you, Oath Keepers are not interested in running the country- we're interested in giving the country back to the people. Period.

I'm at work, we have nothing to do, and it's really... I'll just say "warm", because I'm in the shade. We need to get a dartboard or something.

There's got to be a joke about dartboards and touchscreens here someplace, but I can't put my finger on it or pin it down . . . .

Forums have been slow the past few days. Glad everybody else's celebrations of the 240th anniversary of the People's Glorious July 4th Revolution have been more exciting than mine.

Though I'm pleased to report there were lots of fireworks in my neighborhood, even in the rain.
