Our only hope at that point would be a concentrated global effort by Anonymous. And even that might not work.

That... That's horrific.

And quite the object lesson. Don't go looking for trouble and chaos... they may find you.

When that stuff first came out I had an idea for a T-shirt. Unfortunately I never made the connections to get it done. But here's the basic idea...

Why go looking for trouble, the Uncle thought, when one might have all that one wants for free.

I call your attention to the Punch an Pie sequence that begins here.

(Backstory - a few pages back, Angela got a call at the toy store she manages from Justin, "Hi! How come you called me?"

"Well, I'm in town. Why shouldn't I call old friends?

"Also ... i'm kinda in jail."

Even Further-back-story: Justin wrote a book about a psychopathic bat with a submachine gun.

Someone else (i think) sent it to a publisher.

It got published as a kid's book and was a huge success...

I got my first paycheck from the new job today. If I hadn't missed that one day, I'd have made over $1000 for my first two weeks.

Still, $934 isn't bad at all.

We finally replaced the light switch in my room. It got to the point that I couldn't just flip it, I had to push it up just a little bit. When dad called and asked me to remove the plate, the light when off when I didn't have all the screws in it.

The new switch doesn't match, but at least the damn thing doesn't sound like Rice Crispies.

Snap, crackle, and pop.

Sarge and Al would likely have a field day with this:

'Round these parts, we get exploding roads. Potholes appear instantaneously with a BANG.

Usually happens to concrete roads, they don't bend like asphalt.

One of the puppies died Friday morning. A second one died this evening.

I'm gonna have to get some kind of explosive to loosen the dirt so I can actually dig holes around here. So many roots and rocks. If the damn creek would dry up, I could actually dig there with no problem, but the weather is being a brat.

Steven Brust once said that Minnesota has two seasons: Snow Removal and Road Repair. Occasionallythere's some slippage, and they have Snow Repair or Road Removal.

If you have five seasons per year: almost winter, winter, still winter, road construction, and "It's hot"

...

You might live in Illinois.
