CYA, even when not in doubt. Especially when not in doubt.

I can't anyway, as I don't have insurance (can't afford it), and I don't have the money for a visit anyway.

Get checked anyway.
Agreed.
It may depend on the state, but I expect that having a medical check after an accident which occurred in the course of employment ought to be 100% covered by Workman's Compensation. You shouldn't have to pay for the exam.

I'll just have to ask about it tomorrow.
In unrelated news, I let the puppies out, and then just a few minutes later, their mother had led four of them off somewhere. At one point, she came back, but they weren't with her.
What pisses me off is that I'm probably gonna miss the concert tonight because of these damn dogs I didn't even want.

Check with your state Department or Labor (or whatever it is) not with your employer's Human (Dis)Services.

Good point. They (the State Department of Labor) would tend to be more unbiased in their answer.

Indeed. Especially if you work for a big faceless corporation.

Just read this amusing quote:
Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you criticize them, you are a mile away from them and you have their shoes.

It's a very small company, actually. Fewer than fifteen people, including myself. I don't think we have anything of the sort, and most of us might as well be working for McDonald's.
Edit: And I didn't even give an update on the crap I mentioned earlier. We found the puppies, and got them back into the house.
As for the concert, it was pretty good. One of the guitarists in the opening band had his Marshall amp die on him in the middle of a song. The amps for the second act were behind theirs, and one of the guitarists from that band hooked him up to that.
During Powerman 5000's song "Supernova Goes Pop," there were bubble machines going. The whole club seemed to be full of bubbles. There were lasers coming off of the guitars/bass and the drummer's arms.
At one point they paid tribute to David Bowie, which was pretty cool.
What sucks is, once again, I had nobody to go to the show with me. I hate that.

You can't be happy with another until you are happy with yourself.
I don't know who said that, but it's been applying to me and is making all sorts of sense to me lately. Food for thought.

This, right here, is why I listen when old people talk. They tend to know what's up. I got all kinds of wisdom from my gramma, mainly on the subject of patience. I suspect she might have had some Jedi training.
I also got a lot of unfiltered, no-bullshit, no-nonsense from grampa. He... Didn't pull his punches.

He was an angry old bastard, but he never fed anyone any crap.

I think I need to have my head scanned.
Today, I decided I didn't really want to be out on the road all day, so I did my afternoon route backwards, which kind of shaves a little time off, as I get to what's usually my first stop last, right after they get back from lunch around 1.
So I went to Arkadelphia to make my only stop there. I give them what we had for them, and the lady there handed me a bag with two pair of glasses in it, which I put in this plastic bin I have in the car. This is a key plot point.
I go all the way to Hot Springs, and make a stop there. Then I see the invoices bearing the name and address of the Arkadelphia clinic. So I'm thinking "Crap! I gave them someone else's stuff!" I do three of the remaining four stops, thinking I will have to go back to Arkadelphia, then come back to Hot Springs (the two are more than half an hour apart, going the fast way). So I call that clinic and ask whose stuff I handed them. I gave them their order.
That's when I remembered... That one stop in Hot Springs that is usually first? We didn't have anything going out to them today... And the two glasses with the Arkadelphia clinic's name on the invoices? Those were the glasses I delivered yesterday.

This does sound like a very good justification for getting a post-accident checkup... soon! Do not put this off.
You might well have had at least a concussion from being rear--ended. Some of the symptoms may take time to develop. See a doctor who knows about concussion as soon as you can, get a case opened with Workman's Comp promptly, but do not sign any settlements immediately. Wait at least a few weeks... you may not know whether you have taken any substantial damage for some time.

I wasn't referring to that as a side effect of the accident, actually. I've been having short term memory issues for years now, often forgetting something I said right after I say it. By that, I mean I will forget having spoken at all.
Edit: Also, one of the damn puppies woke me up with his whining at four in the morning. Almost an hour ago. Just about every time I lie back down, he starts in again. I don't know which one it is, but he's pissing me off. More irritating is the fact that my parents somehow NEVER HEAR THE DOGS at night.
This is part of the reason I am not fond of dogs. I don't hate dogs I don't live with, because I don't have to deal with them.

From my time in the Air Force, they were very big on as Safety issue called the Interrupted Cycle. Consider - Your aircraft is on approach and your crew is doing the the before landing checklist. You get a radio call requiring you to change course or something that interrupts the checklist until you're safe to continue. So, now you pick up the list from where you stopped. Surprise! Gear up landing! You resumed the checklist from where you thought you stopped, and you were wrong. In these cases, you start over from the beginning.
Another case of Interrupted Cycle: A fellow needs to get more coal for his furnace hopper, so he bundles up and heads out into the winter weather to the coal skip to fill his scuttle (a coal bucket) with coal. Temperatures being what they are, he feels the need to drain his bladder, so on the way back, he stops in the bathroom -- and dumps the scuttle into the toilet. Oops!
In the first case, the cycle resumed at the wrong point. In the second, the cycle completed at the wrong destination.
Doing the route backwards was a fun idea, but it also required a big shift in cycle analysis since everything was backwards. It may not be your injuries, just the break in your usual habits.
Good luck!

I'm thinking I'll have to call in tomorrow. My back hurts, my head hurts, I'm tired because those damn puppies woke me up at around 4 AM... I also have no idea how to go about looking into the worker's compensation thing so I can see a doctor to see if I'm alright or not.
Edit: Somehow forgot to mention this part, but... There's no electricity on three sides of my room. So my phone is plugged into the computer, charging really slowly.

The worker's comp process is similar in most states. The Texas Dep't of Insurance has a
resource page that explains the process.
