Minor quibble; is it " doll's " - singular possessive, or " dolls' "- plural possessive ?

I think Katherine is using the singular.

from memory (of someone who can't tell you what he had for lunch yesterday :p), while there were once seven (?) dolls, isn't there just the one now, as far as Katherine knows about?

If the "Doll's Secret" is explain in artwork (or even pictures?), not writing, would the Library have a copy?

And even if it did have a copy, having the secret and understanding what it means are two separate things.
