I don't know why thoughts like that go through my head. I'm a horrible person.
More horrible yet would be if his parents, believing that he'd be murdered, had become fearful enough to arm themselves against possible home invaders. Hiroshi comes home, finds the front door locked, tries to come in the back, and one of his parents (believing he's a burger or assassin) shoots him (or fries him with a Fae spell, or teleports him into a volcano, or ...)
That would be horrible. What makes it really horrible is that things like that
have happened on occasion.

That might have something to do with the author, reviewers, and the entire team having messy accidents . . . though it seems there was an escape . . .
