I think Granpa told her where he got 'em, and bought some for herself.
Nah. The old sap's a soft touch - anyway she knows where his stash is and has (tacit) permission to snag as long as she doesn't rat him out to Momma Bear...
"Granpa, I need a few of these."
"What for, dear?" (tightens a loose clamp under the bonnet of the Land Rover)
"I'm going to go to Aunt Monica's Island for a bit, an' I need some...
fortification?"
"Ah. Well, then, just don't let your mother know where you got them."
"I think she kinda knows already, but thanks, granpa." (heads off)
(Al pauses for a moment)
"Hm. Must be boy trouble or something."

I think we had another time skip, Castela has "chest bumps" now like the girl that was distracting Timmy a few pages back.

From a strictly mechanical pov; I'm not so sure, they were more 'under wraps' before, in street clothes.

Could also be an unconscious shapeshift.

In the context of the thread- Unconscious, being everything Not Conscious, works.
It can include the subconscious, but is not limited to 'it only pertains when I'm Knocked Out..."'.

Not to be confused with subConscience. I'm not sure exactly what subConscience would be, but it would probably involve cussing and snarking.

Maybe on Halloween, or maybe St Bacchanalians' Day...
Other than it being kinky for kinky's sake it holds little allure for me- personally, in either role, but it's taboo, it's foreboden, and in it's forbiddingness, holds some appeal.
"You Must Not Do This!"
"OK, I wont Do That...", "But where is it?"
