A nod to the web comic Magical Girl Neil or the animated SheZow?

i have a sneaky suspicion that any subsequent Shelly's would have been non-existent in the entire new reset... that could have been why Brandi's book to herself mentions that Monica will be with a really close friend... either Shelly, ?Amanda i think, or a third that i REALLY don't remember (and can't find in an archive run...) that could have been why those other two are only remembered by the book... it was in The Library and thus unaffected by the erasure, and the next cycle when Brandi continued, she noted that there was a discrepancy, but logged it just in case... after 56 tries it just became one more thing that didn't go anywhere.

Bart Simpson answered that years ago.

The Sound of One Hand Clapping = Finger Snaps...

Wanna know about the Tree Falling in the Forest?

If the tree stops moving, the kinetic energy had to be absorbed and dispersed from the impact, implying heat and vibration propagating through the surroundings. So, yes. It does make a sound.

Philosophy majors hate me.

That's not even the right question. "doobie, or not doobie?" That is the question.

Though, considering this is Wapsi Square, the question is probably "Booby, or not booby?"

Well, duh. It's Frank. He'll still be making girls swoon when his bones are dust.

I'm not where my Interwebz will support YouTube but following on the heels of Mr Sinatra's Centennial I became ear-wormed by, of all the ironic things mind you,

"I've Got You, Under My Skin.
I've Got You, Deep In the Heart Of Me..."

Aw dam'n, I just reactivated it too.

(Diana Krall, btw, does an exceptionally fine version of this song...)

PS- If you have someone worth your time, Play them some Diana Krall. That set of people would include one's self...

No, a snap is when you store energy by pinching thumb and finger together, and then letting the finger slip and smack into the meaty bit of your palm under the thumb.

A one-handed clap doesn't store energy like that. It uses momentum and a whip-like motion through the arm to carry the fingers past their natural position to slap the palm.

I'd heard the answer to this Zen koan was to thrust one hand out, palm vertical at the questioner.

(but I hear a great many things that may or may not be true)

I think Pratchett (or somebody) had one of his Zen masters one-hand-clap the student alongside the head...
