I totally missed yesterday's outburst as occurring IN the movie theater--big ho hum and didn't even take the time to look at the comments. Today i was all WTF??? where the hell are they that she got so embarrassed--oh they were in the movie theater--duh!!!
My fault for not paying attention.
As far as Atsali's relationship with Nadette goes let me explain. . .no there is too much, let me sum up:
1. Atasli is a teenager that just hit puberty (or got hit by puberty if you prefer), all this physical stuff is still brand new, clueless in every sense of the word.
2. Atsali is a siren, and has an incredible memory, she can see and remember just about everything. Being able to remember it does not mean that you automatically understand it.
3. She did have the entire Lanthian civilization go traipsing through her head, so lots of information added.
Even the fastest computers get bogged down if you give them too much to do all at once.
4. Last but not least, she sought out a mentor because she does not pickup on clues, innuendos, expressions, etc. Not sure why, she just doesn't.
Nadette on the other hand,
1. knows what she is and what she wants.
2. Is used to dealing with 'normal" para-normals that get the hint. (not sure if normal para-normal is a real thing, but youall know what I mean)
3. Has learned to depend on her abilities of knowing what happens next to guide her actions in the here and now. However, that trick does not work on Asali due to "feelings" and "emotions"
In short, comedy will continue as long as it is funny. *throws a worn out copy of "The princess bride" towards th epun jar and heads back to confusion corner. . .*

Nadette’s top is now white; it was black in the cinema and before.
- Nadette was so embarrassed she's “covered up” subconsciously, losing the real clothes?
- Art change to distinguish the characters better, continuity be d—d?
- Art oversight?

Or D. Random clothes color changes happen like all the time in this comic, lol. :3

Or possibly refreshing to someone who normally always knows what's coming.
TheCollector wrote:Way I view it, knowing exactly how your partner would react to any possible situation is never something said partner would be happy with.
I mean if Groundhogs Day taught me anything, it's that.
I can see that. I'd just think that it would be like losing one of your senses. Perhaps it's unsettling the first time, but once the triggers are recognized, it can be appreciated?
I see it as an anti-paradox mechanic. If, say, Naddette foresees something really, really unpleasant is going to happen to someone she is emotionally invested in (For the sake of simplicity, let's just use Atsali for that), Nadette would be tempted to try to prevent that.
This sort of thing can result in several brands of weirdness. One is the issue of "Set Fate." In trying to prevent the nasty event, Nadette doesn't accomplish anything.
Another is what I call the "Paarthurnax Problem"
Paarthurnax wrote:Those who try to hasten the end, may delay it. Those who work to delay the end, may bring it closer.
Then there's the "Causality Loop" where the seeing of the vision causes the event in the vision to not occur, so there was nothing to see, so the Seer didn't see it, so the event
does occur... Etc. etc.
And finally, there's the chance of causing "The Vision is a Lie"... Nadette sees the vision, successfully averts it... Thus proving her visions are not always true, and are thus subject to doubt... Which kind of defeats the purpose of seeing the future. (Yes, I know this problem can be solved with the Many Worlds concept, but still)
Basically... I think if Nadette
could see the futures of things she is emotionally invested in, it would cause all kinds of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimeyness... Which tends to get messy.

You haven't happened to see a blue police box lately, have you? Bit rough around the edges, got some soot on it... Hopefully the door's locked.
...
Hmm. I can't remember if I locked it...

So THAT'S where she went! Cheeky little *mumblegrumble*... I've been
trying to get her back to the Doc, but it seems she's in a bit of a tiff over something...

There's also the factor that a siren doesn't need to be able to detect someone else's emotions, she just dictates them...
...except Atsali has made a conscious choice to NOT do that.

Yep.
Remember - despite their appearance, neither of these girls is actually human.

Atsali seemed a little obtuse even in her first meeting with Katherine. I thought it was just teenage acting without really thinking that gave her the "runaway train" character but looking back, she didn't seem to ever read Katherine's reactions to the ongoing disaster.

I'm thinking the change in the shirt from dark to light is a concious choice by the artist to not have the really dark backgrounds of this latest page swallow up one of the characters.
That, and it also goes towards her internal emotional state.

That's what I'd guess. In a way, Nadette has fit all of Atsali into her VSC.
And that sounds way dirtier than I intended... Oh well.
