I ran across that lizard page about twelve years ago, and i just ran across it while checking old publications for an equally-silly piece of art from about that long ago (which i didn't find...), and i thought "Hey! I know some places this'd be appreciated..."

Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Please tell me some nerd will get the joke.

Re: More Stuff
Bing Translator interprets it as "Sea bream-like numbers."
Quite a few different species of fish are sold commercially as "red snapper" and I wouldn't be surprised if several species of bream are among them. The Korean term is probably more accurate/precise than the English.
"Like" came through OK.
I'm not at all sure why both Bing and Google say "numbers" where DinkyInky meant "taste".
All of this reminds me of the speakerspell (automatic translator) error in "The Flying Sorcerers". When it attempted to translate the visiting spaceman's name it rendered "As a color, shade of purple-grey" and everyone called him "Purple". That wasn't his name at all (I won't spoil the joke... go read the book and have some fun).
(I was originally going to be really nerdy and ask my joke-question in translated Klingon. Unfortunately the Roman-text version was too obvious... the object noun came through in the clear... and the forum web site couldn't handle the Klingon font. Of the choices which worked, I liked the look of the Korean best, and I figured DinkyInky would get a chuckle out of it and get the joke instantly

I remember reading a story once in which a universal-translator program started translating starlight...
... and, years later, a story which referred to that event. (I don't recall if the two stories were by the same author or set in the same universe.)

One time I was on a review tribunal for potential enlistees. One guy's reason: he'd gotten bored of hitting cows on the head with a sledgehammer, so he wanted to get a chance to kill more exciting things.
(He didn't get selected, and discreet word was sent to relevant authorities)

HEY!!!... What's your beef with Pumpkin Tipping? that there is a respected sport where i'm from, we're even trying to get enough interest outside the area, to see if we can get it submitted for inclusion as a Winter Olympics event... it's not for people like those whack-jobs that go out and Cow Smashing...shadowinthelight wrote:It's always bad when they mix up cow tipping and pumpkin smashing.Catawampus wrote:he'd gotten bored of hitting cows on the head with a sledgehammer, so he wanted to get a chance to kill more exciting things.

Heck of a sport that is.scantrontb wrote:HEY!!!... What's your beef with Pumpkin Tipping?

I think we should give up Pumpkin Tipping entirely. Their bosses ought to be paying pumpkins enough of a living wage that they shouldn't have to depend on tips to keep their vines properly watered. Sure, it will mean slightly higher prices at the farmer's market, but it's just fairer and more equitable that way.
Re: More Stuff
I finally got in contact with that sound production guy. I start working for him on Monday.
In other news, last week I had hand, foot, and mouth disease. Real nasty stuff. You start with a fever and sore throat, but as those fade, you get a rash on the hands, feet, and face. If you get it as an adult, it can be ridiculously itchy. It made sleeping very difficult.
It was like I had face herpes (not to be confused with space herpes) for a while there, but there's no trace of any of the lesions on my face. My hands and feet are still healing, though.
Also, I found out that I can also use my flip phone to post stuff, if I'm patient enough.

I've never heard of something that gave you a fever then left with a rash...

yeah, it's some weird-ass virus that was first identified in New Zealand back in '57. Apparently, though, a fever comes standard with most infections, because that's actually part of the immune response. Something about how the increased heat is supposed to make it harder for pathogens to multiply or something like that.

If you're not reading Alice and the Nightmare, why aren't you?
An interesting magitech take on Alice in Wonderland, with characters who are (intentionally) not idealised; Alice is a bit chubby, her roommate Edith is sort of tall and gawky, and the other characters follow the trend - with a whole range of body types and features.
First page
Current page
Updates Tuesday and Friday, pretty consistently. Currently at Page 39, Chapter 2
=======================
I was struck by the composition of the final panel of today's page, so i spent a while sort-of doing a 3D conversion on it.
