Fortunately, that prediction doesn't involve Google's servers or the Internet. It's all handled locally on your PC, thanks to the telepathic sensor that's built into most keyboards these days. The keyboard simply evaluates what you're thinking about, and sends a one-phrase summary to your browser as part of the first keystroke (there's a reason the Unicode character set is as large as it is!).

Reassuring to know that, isn't it?

LOL at the idea so many people would still be reading newspapers today.
I read all the articles, for fun. It was amusing. I particularly liked the last one, at the bottom right...

Some do, and some buy it for the ad copy(since, despite the popularity of smart phone apps and smart registers, most places refuse to accept digital couponing).

Yeah, math skills are going downhill  ...

Cool Beans. The local library, up here where I currently am (waaay far Northern California, but not as far as Yreka mind you) put on their first Astronomy night. The 1st night last week was called on account of clouds following a unscheduled light rain sprinkle, so the following week (this last Tues) less kids and stuff showed up.

Still I have high hopes of wrangling more folks out to the back of beyond where is good and dark and you can still see the Milky Way!

Rather proud of that shot - hand held, 200 mm lens, manual focusing...

(And that's only about a third of the frame, too.)

I still know how to work a camera rather than letting the camera operate me.

Though the image stabilisation in the Nikon VR lenses that gives me shoot at least two stops slower is a Major Good Thing.

==================

Got out of the car, looked up, saw it, immediately grabbed the camera and the 200 mm

(The Nikon's APS-C sensor format makes it the equivalent of a 300 mm for standard 35 mm cameras)

It's a great shot, Fairport. And now knowing it was a hand held shot only makes it better...

Heh, I'd just taken a photo of the moon myself the other day, testing out my new camera's capabilities. First time that I've had a personal camera that could take decent images of it that weren't just "vague yellowish orb-shape in the dark" in style.

One of these days - in about a week, when it'll be full - i may unlimber the cannon - 500mm mirror lens.

That one will be harder, since i have t sort of beat on the camera to get it to operate at all with a non-Nikon lens, and it definitely DOESN'T have image satabilisation, but bracing it on the car top and bracketing by a stop or so might give some good results.

I gotta get a physically-smaller, lighter 500mm.

500mm - that isn't a lens, that's a... oh wait, I bet you're giving focal length not diameter. :geek:

Looks like twerking has been around a hell of a lot longer than most people thought.

I might do that later, if the people I work with don't stop whining about having to pull orders when I'm not at work. I have to take care of most of the orders we get, by myself. Meaning if someone's building a deck, I might be handling a couple tons (literally) of lumber with next to no assistance.

'Bout ready to burn this mutha f***a down... but I won't, since I gotta make car payments and such.

How many times have I said the same thing...?
