Agreed - that really is gorgeous, Atomic!
I'd be curious to know whether Paul did the original black&white of the stained glass window "de novo", or whether he rotoscoped a photograph of an existing window somewhere. It looks a bit like some modern stained-glass art I've seen in stores and catalogs. My wife has been talking about using a much more colorful palette when we repaint the back of the house (a very private closed yard area) and I might have to see whether she'd want to consider a bit of stained glass somewhere.

Your hint is my vague desire!
Very nice, Atomic, and beat me to the punch. So I'll put this out -

Because I found this doing color research and it was too cool not to use...

Why not? Phix is clearly into rap music and slam dancing!
And Nudge is really taking to speed metal...

Did you try turning it off and then turning it back on?
Glad you liked it
Jabberwonky I liked your stained glass window with the transformer in it. I also like your Jin with the "Heinz" theme. You are getting real good with that shading method.

The local multiplex is going to be busy with all these movie openings on December 22nd.

That's the first time I've ever worked in black and white. If I needed B&W I'd work in color and filter it to that. I was trying to make a bump map to curve the numbers to the facial shapes, but couldn't get that to work right...time for a tutorial crawl...
I don't mean to cast aspersions(mostly because I was never a good magic user)but after staring at your Phix pix for 37 minutes, everytime the phone rings I have this urge to yowl like a cat...

I think Management figures they can just run a midnight showing that day, and let the noon-and-after shift employees know that they will be excused from work if the world ends before the afternoon bargain matinee showing begins.

So if the day ends before noon...it'll be a day of morning?

Just gotta say that I am amazed at the talent you all show! I can't draw a crooked line, and my color sense is non-existant. Thank you all.

I"m proof you don't need talent, just start doing it and practice at it for a while. It'll come to you...
I've head that advice from
others.

It had to be done.
Please for the sake of my own sanity, don't ever let me draw another sonic rainboom by hand again.

Your assignment, Mr. Phelps, should you decide to accept it:
1. Draw 5 stick figures in a row on a piece of paper. Just standing, walking, or whatever. Don't bother with head details if you don't want to.
2. Later that day, draw five more in a row below the first set.
3. Before bed, draw five more below the others.
4. The next day, do it again. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Somewhere around the 3rd or 4th page, try having them do something. Walking. Jumping. Going up stairs. Looking over a cliff. Think of the emotion involved in what they're doing.
Eventually, add eyes of some kind and maybe a mouth. Big eyes. Dot eyes. Smile, frown, growl with teeth. What emotion are you drawing?
Let it grow from there!
